As I've played, I've come to wonder: Is Big Ape REALLY watching?

Of course Big Ape is watching, silly humans, Big Ape keeps us all safe from the tyranny of freedom.

This human-ape poster is obviously a fraud though- big ape is regal and imposing, unlike the simple earth-gorilla on that poster of rustling jimmies.

Whether Big Ape is real or not is moot- Big Ape is the miniknog, and the miniknog is the Apex, questioning more than that reeks of the perverse thinking of the rebels, and is not to be tolorated.

Big Ape is not a god, Science is our god, and Big Ape is the most perfect specimen of scientific achievement.

Glory to Big Ape, Glory to the miniknog- and death to those who would impede progress for the sake of liberty!

More generally, the Floran lore says that most of their tech is stolen from visiting aliens they've slaughtered. The ship that Floran players get is supposed to be a stolen Apex ship, hence the comment about the navigation chair.

 

A Big Ape end boss? Perhaps rolling barrels at us and we need to..jump over them? Could be some ladders and platforms..Hey it could work!

 

What if your character is Big Ape? And he has amnesia? As you progress through the game and do more missions, eventually you start finding pieces of your former life. The former Big Ape, who led a rebellion..against himself? Oh dear.

I was under the impression that the Apex were humans who de-evolved their bodies in order to evolve their brains further. I remember reading that in their lore or something. So obviously they are going to have a lot of similarities.

 

Afaik, it only mentions that their ancestors were human-like. Still, what you said is something I'd like to believe.

@Relinies: The USCM is an human organisation keeping human prisoners. It's not run by apex.

That said, one of the codices says that humanity might ally with the Big Ape.

That lore is no longer labelled "official" or "canon" by Razey. The only canon lore we have right now are the codexes I believe.

First of all, the ship hatch, I believe it's a place holder? They made an apex hatch, and then rather than rename it or make new ones for each race they just used the apexhatch in all the ship.

As for the posters in human society, it is still an anomoly, but I'm pretty sure Big Ape did not play a role in human society, past maybe knowing about the tentacle monster since Greenfinger seems to know about it.

I have found Apex facilities where they altered apex DNA.

Maybe humans are altered apex, since they are the two most genetically similar species in the game?

EDIT: Also, Big Ape IS a definite person, a researcher talked about him visiting his facility in his "blog" that i found in that lab.

 

Of course, said "Big Ape" turned out to be an assassin, but yeah, too many of the important codex writers seem to have met him in person for him to be fake.

 

You do realize that Greenfinger is floran and has no affiliation with Big Ape other than knowing him right? Or the Apex for that matter.

 

Also, why do the Glitch have spaceships? They cant get out of the medieval age, so someone must provide it for them, possibly the apex, as it is made to be similar to a castle so that the glitch are familiar with it.

 

The glitch were originally designed by their creators to expand, they may have been provided ships by this race.

 

Yes. What makes think I don't? She still wants an Alliance with humans and plans to tell her associates, which includes the avian Thornwing and Big Ape, about it, which might be a hint that they'll also get involved. Otherwise, why tell them?
