As a Hylotl can I fill my ship with water?

Now, at first I wasn't planning on playing this race. But I have to say, the Bioshock/Japanese style that their underground cities look like.. have more or less changed my mind. But a big factor in if I will play them or not, is if I can fill my space ship with water! Making anyone who boards my ship need a re-breather or have Hylotl gear themselves.

Flying aquarium sounds great but I guess we are clueless at the moment. I have never heard of this from the devs I think.

Like Kunar said, I don't think we've seen any info on water-spawners/transporters (such as hoses or buckets) other than a dev tool to spawn oceans.
So I'm pretty sure the answer is no currently.

 

Such an aquatic environment would only make your ship a more inviting target for the Space Porpoise Pirates.

Juice Box is not entirely sure Hylotl's can breath under water, they can however hold their breath for longer.

 

The hyotyl armour trait allows them to stay underwater.

 

already saw them do that at some point in a stream a long time ago. If you want to scour for it, I'm almost sure it's still there and is one of the streams that Tiy saved. It'd just be a major huge pain.

Also not sure if he was only able to do it because of admin privileges or not. Even if that is the case, I don't think it would really be considered cheating to fill your ship with water so I don't have a problem with usin admin porvulegins

 

Flying fish bowl in space??? YES. Though I wonder how happy your friends who beamed to your spaceship will be when they suffocate maybe only make the cockpit full of water.

 

I am sure you can craft buckets and fill them with water. So if it came down to it you could just make a box and fill it with water by hand.

 

Guys, I want a giant top tier space ship FILLED with water. And then I'll let the people who board my ship know that there is air located somewhere and that they have to find it.

Every race is essentially the same outside of armor bonus, looks, and lore.
The Hyotl armor will let you stay underwater longer, but any sort of space ship full of water with no air would be a deathtrap for you too.

So no massive underwater excursions or traveling hours exploring underwater worlds without a breath of air... and no aquarium ship. Even if you somehow got water up to it.

 

We cannot breathe water, just make tech suited for it. Just like the Avian can't actually fly, but can make wing based tech

 

I wouldn't be surprised if top tier Hylotl armor not only let you breathe under water, but also allowed one to move faster underwater than on land.

In that case, filling one's ship with water might be genius.
I'm sure it'll be possible, though probably extremely difficult.

 

As Daj stated, I'm sure some of the top tier tech will allow for underwater everything, however the bigger question is, does water destroy certain things? Like storage crates, tents, etc I'm sure it'd have to destroy some things, the question is what, because if it destroys alot of your vanity/decoration, storage, crafting items. Then you may not want to do so.

I would love to have a water-filled ship as a Hylotl and a beer-filled ship as a Human.
I hope that water just knocks some stuff around if it flows through it with enough force, not breaking it. It makes sense to place items while underwater. Provided that they're either waterproof and don't involve flame (unless they're designed to burn underwater)

 

This is a pretty interesting idea. I have a feeling that you will be unable to use planet-build mode in the ship, however, though that is just my guess, really.
