Armour rating not changing

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone else has found that when they equip armour their armour rating doesn't change?
If I remove all clothes and armour it goes to zero but never above 3 when I equip things despite having enough armour pieces for a rating of 5.

 

Same problem here, and I REALLY need the armor rating on this planet, have 3 when i would really be wearing a 7 >:c DEVS PLEASE my planet is TOO harsh for just 1 point of armor more after wasting all my pixel and copper :cccccc

 

youl need a full set of iron for a rating of 5.

im not exactly sure if this is a graphical bug or not tho. if you are wearing iron or higher and still see it as 3 then something probably went wrong.

 

ninta, i mean with a full set of anything you only get the rating of the chest, iron is supposed to give a lot more than 5
EDIT: chestpiece of copper gives 3 all alone, boots also, and headgear gives 1, but neither stack

 

if you notice, they actually just take the highest value for a single piece you're wearing (weird bug)

for example, iron gives 5 defense for one piece, so it'll show you as having five armor total. copper greaves give three defense, etc

 

i had a rating of 4 when i had a mix of iron and copper so they dont just take the highest value. theres some calculation going on.

 

I noticed this too. I equipped the copper plate with a value of 3, then I equipped the pants AND the helmet and still only 3 defense.

 

armor rating is not an addition. its more of an average. the rating on your inventory screen is more of an indication of "with your current equiped armor you can handle this lvl of mobs decently".

i had an iron chest and the rest copper and i averaged on 4 rating.

 

Perhaps it's taking the average defence of your armour?

 

Then which is the point of crafting a whole set of something? had the chest alone, got from 10 dmg to 9 dmg, got full set, same crap :c 9 damage

 

FYI:
Copper armor 3 defense, 3 cold protect
Tier 1 armor 5 defense, 5 cold protect
Siler armor 10 defence, 3 cold protect
Gold armor 13 defence, 3 cold protect
Tier 2 armor 15 defence, 15 cold protect.

 

Just wondering, how do you build gold armour? I've gotten as high as silver, and I have gold ingots, so how do I get the schematics for gold armour?

 

defeat the first boss, get a molten core then make a metal working station.

 

but then again, which is the logic of crafting a whole set if rating doesn't change if wearing full or nothing but chest? and if my predictions are right, the armor rating sistem is supposed to be like in terraria or every single frigging game where there is an armor rating system from start :BBBBBB

 

I wonder how they never catched any of these things?
