I just finished Beta sector and landed in my first Gamma world. Level 21. I have noticed that every creature can one-shot kill me all of a sudden, even though I'm wearing (mostly) the best armor available from the previous sector. Curiously, thanks to the quality of the weapons I had leaving Beta sector, I can one-shot them as well, most of the time. This is turning combat into a very unsatisfying and purely twitch-based mechanic. Time it exactly right and I live a little longer. Time the swing wrong and end up back in the ship.

Do you think this upcoming change is going to address this issue? I certainly don't mean to rehash anything that's already been addressed, I'm merely frustrated with the fact that although I've beaten the boss for Beta, it appears I'm not actually ready for Gamma, and my next steps may very well need to be (1) go back to Beta, (2) grind for enough platinum to make the best armor. Doesn't really sound all that fun :(

    I really hope it does

The rocket-tag nature of combat right now is kind of annoying

It's like playing Hotline Miami, but with a much longer wait to get back to what you were trying to do

Tiy didnt put certainty behind it being this oen, but he definitely implied that this change would be the coming up wipe certain. So I hope and imagine it will be soon.
One concern I have is that the new system isnt fleshed out enough and will need tweaked again.

I feel the upcoming patch will be a start to addressing this issue as it should make the armor more viable for a few levels beyond. Currently the most efficient way is to simply go to the highest level planet you can anyway and find some pirates. With the upcoming path it was implied that level 10 gear would be roughly applicable all the way until maybe 13.

This is just a guess though as it wasn't exactly clear. But with the easy medium hard setting for each mob in a tier I'm simply dividing by 3. If i recall correctly he stated that the top of the previous tier would be viable for the bottom of the next tier. Honestly though we have to wait and see.

I was abit confused about this as well, he implied that the monster levels may be lowered to 1-10, and that the highest of one would be the lowest of another. So Alpha would be 1-2-3, Beta would be 3-4-5, Gamma would be 5-6-7 and X- would be 7-8-9 With 10 being unique? However it would be dependent on depth.
Implying that all surface monsters in alpha would be level 1, and all core monsters in beta would be level 5.
However the monsters atm only really drop pixels, food and crafting materials. The Most common NPC dungeons for weapons are all on the surface. But equally they have always been stronger than monsters on the core. So maybe they are the 4th,6th,8th and 10th level of mobs per sector and sectors are actually 4 level ranges.
But that would reduce the level range of weapons from "claimed to be 100, currently 40-50" All the way down to 5.
Will wait for the update and see how it goes.
