Story Ark Explained

This is the story that Ark tells. This isn't confirmed, but there is enough evidence that it is beliveible.


Once, Earth and everyone on it lived peacfully until a creature struck. This "creature" is known as the Tentacomet. It sunk its tentacles into the planet, spliting it apart. After Earth was split up into many astreoids, the Tentacomet still raged on destroying everything in it's path. At their darkest hour, six leaders combined their power to defeat the Tentacomet. They created a warrior that could defeat the Tenacomet. This warrior travelled far across and found the Tenacomet. The hero defeated the Tenacomet and it turned to stoned, but so did the hero. With the Tenacomet and hero's power combined, the life energy was to powerful and created a portal to a black hole. Today, all eight dominant speicies lived in harmony, but no one knows if the Tentacomet shall return, and if it does a new hero shall rise...

Find a typo or mistake? just tell me and I'll fix it. Also, evidence of the Tentacomet are on the right side of the portal at Ark, and a teaser that can be found at the starbound wiki (starbounder). The text on the closed gateway translated says "collect the six keys and place them here to open the black hole"

 

Not to be an elite scrub, but isn't the Tentacomet still inhabiting Earth?

 

It already could float away through space once Earth was detroyed

 

I think what he's saying is a possible future? It could be, anyways. Like, the six heroes may rise up in the future to create the warrior...

But wasnt the eigth race slot on the gates revealed to be an eye like the one represented in the cave paintings from the Floran Mission?

 

Yes, and if the novakid were not involved, why is their race represented on the gateways?

Tentacomet is actually only the boss as far as anyone but Chucklefish knows. The one that destroyed Earth was called "Beast From Beyond The Stars". The eight head slot in the gate was actually representing the tentacle monsters (It was the tentacle monster eye before the devs removed it soon after the gate was revealed), so the eight race is the tentacle monsters.

The last glowing story-thing (its late I cant make words) on the Ark shows things given to all races but the Novakid. So they aren't canonically related.
devs give no love to fan made race ;-;

It's the only thing in entire SB universe referred "Tentacomet". Many fan sources call everything with tentacles Tentacomet, which isn't really even canon since it's not officially in the game yet.

The Tentacle Comet is a planned boss that will be added in the future. Not much is known about it at this time. However, it is suspected that this is related to the creature that destroyed Earth, scattering the human race throughout the galaxy.

Once defeated, it will likely drop the Tentacle Comet Codex, which has some lore info on the boss.

the only place that the beast from beyond the stars is in the human lore, is which they were saying is was a beast from beyond the stars, not the beast from beyond the stars, plus, who else could it be?

yes, because they didn't have the novakids involved in the lore and that technically speaking is stealing credit

because the novakids aren't involved. they may be on the gate, but the warp gates aren't related at all except for the black hole gate
