Are You Willing To Pay?

A lot of people think this game is gonna be a really good one from what we can see, and plan to see. I share these feelings, but we all know that "free" is essentially out of the question, and as we all know, quite a few people drop the idea when they have to spend a little on it. So then, we all gotta dish it out (Dollars, Euros, Yen, Peso, Imperial Credits, whatever you fancy). So the real question is, who's ready ,and willing, to drop something on this beautiful little project here (and how much)? I know I am.

Depends. If it is as good as it sounds, and gameplay videos come out, making my excitement skyrocket, I will probably pay any game price.

 

I wouldn't say I would pay any game price. Lets be realistic, normally games run for around $50-$60 in the United States when they first come out, then depreciate as they become less popular. Now, this game is introducing many concepts I have not seen before or concepts that I have not seen in a game at the same time before. I dunno maybe I just haven't played enough games and all of the concepts in Starbound have also been used in other games. However, because I have not personally seen some of these concepts in a game or seen the combination of concepts, I will probably wait until some people have played the game and made reviews for it before deciding how much I am willing to pay. Depending on the reviews and there reasons, because i'm obviously not going to not buy the game just because someone gave the game like a 2/5 with a minor or no reason, will dictate at what price I buy the game.

as long as the price isnt huge for a relatively simple dev process, then yes.
if the price is something like the general price of games now, like $70-$100 for a general fps, copy and pasted from the last in the series *cough* COD *cough*, then i WOULDNT pay.

My guess is that it will end up being 15 -25 bucks on Steam. Even if it cost more, I'll gladly pay if it is as good as I'm expecting it to be.

I'm getting 5 copies of it if humanly possible, so I'm very much hoping for a 4 pack for a reasonable price on Steam.

 

i'm willing to pay whatever it will cost. but if its only 15€, i am going to buy it for atleast 2 friends, too.

 

I am hoping for $10US (like Terraria), but I'd be willing to pay $15US. Higher than that and I would question why they would charge more for a 2-D sidescroller. (albeit a great one from what we have seen)
