Are you overwhelmed and scared of how insanely huge this game is going to be?

Guys,


Well... After reading all of these stuff about starbound... daily updates... roadmap... etc.

I have STARTED to imagine how insanely HUGE this game is going to be. And I mean - HUGE.
And now I am scared. I am overwhelmed by this idea.

I am scared because I have my life... Other things to do. But this... Is scaring me.

These hundreds and thousands of items, recipes, nps, planets, creatues... Universe, whole damn universe.

Yes, I am pretty scared. It is too much for me to handle For now. I have to get used to that idea... how overwhelming this game is going to be...

 

Nope.

I have about 160 hours clocked in Terraria, and Terraria was lacking in multiple departments

I have over 210 in spore

240 in Freelancer

700+ in Team Fortress 2

... I THINK I'LL MANAGE

I will play Starbound for 5 minutes at a time if I have to get this game into my veins, and given the sheer amount of content and replayability in the game, I'm sure I'll manage to surpass my TF2 time.

 

Nope.

I certainly don't make silly one word posts.

I am up to the challenge 100% and will be speedrunning the game for 500 years straight until I acquire every single log and visit every planet.

Yes, I'm extremely busy at college but I want to continue my work within 2D sandbox games for my YouTube channel, and with Terraria's update and Starbound beta just around the corner I feel I'm going to be over whelmed and die.

Scared? No. Excited? Yes. There is nothing to be scared about. I understand that a game with as many features as Starbound might suck you in, but you just have to learn how to manage your real life with your online life. I think you'll be just fine

 

I just wanna play it already, I can deal with the sheer size of it, but I can't deal with waiting. That's the real killer here.

 

Overwhelmed? No.
Scared? No

I've played skyrim to 100% and I still felt it was too short.

And I'm going to be the guy to say it:

I put around 200 hours into that and i am not done yet...

 

It felt short to me, different for everyone.

 

Well there are bigger games (Dwarf Fortress would be a great example, especially since it has such a terrible interface), yet people play them and nobody went insane due to their complexity.

I'm also sure that the game will be designed is such a way, to teach basics quickly and easily. And after that you'll be able to explore galaxy and game features without getting a headache.

 

Just Cause 2 Is massive, 84 hours in and only 6% completion. Also X 3:Reunion, complex to get started but I love it.

Easy now, let's not get over hyped here

We don't know how different the planets will really be yet. It might just end up feeling like a set ammount of biomes (winter, jungle, desert and so on) with few variations for each planet, so in other words: we don't know how long it'll take before you've seen it all.

I'm not saying it won't hold up, but I'd hate to get dissapointed due to having unreasonable expectations.

 

Thousand of ours spend on world of warcraft. Hundreds of hours spend of minecraft. More than 200 hours and counting spend on Skyrim. Yeah
I have no idea, how big this game is gonna be. Probably immensely huge. But I know I'm gonna play ton of it. That's all what matters to me now.

I think we have only seen the tip of the proverbial iceberg thus far. It is hard to judge the expansiveness of the game from text blurbs and screenshots alone; though a few of the videos have done a good job of hinting at what we may expect. Hopefully it will not be too much longer till the true scope of the game becomes much more obvious to all and sundry.

 

Overhelmed? Nope! Scared? Nope!
