I bet right now, the answer is no. Apparently the roadmap hasn't changed except for the pre-order button.

Molly said they would update it sometime this month, what would you think if it only turns out .5% of every topic got done, or how would you feel if all topics were 90%? Please discuss about it here, i'm interested in what the community has to say.

We're getting closer. That's all we have, and all we should need.

Also, it seems that cool people colour their text.

What i'm trying to ask here is, "how would you react given both of the above situations?".

I'm a hipster, being cool is too mainstream.

    I'll give you a scenario.

You're in a car, being driven across a desert. All you have before you is a road, the signs along the road give percentage estimates as to how close you are to your goal. You have know idea how long it will take to get to your goal. The driver is smiling the entire time, you ask "Are we there yet?" and he ignores you, after several days of you repeating the question, he replies. "Sorry about that! Nearly there!" and this tides you over for a few months on this endless trip. Eventually, irritated, you ask again "Are we there yet?" and he doesn't answer, you ask several more times, and he says "Sorry about that! Nearly there! Maybe like, two days!" Two days pass, you are still traveling, and the signs that you see along the road still only give percentages, no distance or time, you have no way of determining how long its going to take. You say 'Hey its been two days, are we there yet?' and the driver responds two days later with "Nope! Sorry, four days maybe!". Four days pass, you still haven't arrived, the road signs haven't changed, giving the same percentages, all you have to go on are the drivers promises. You ask again, "Hey man its been four days, aren't we there yet?" and he replies with "Nope, maybe sometime this year though!".

Now imagine there are other people in the car with you, and every time you ask "Hey are were there yet?" they scream at you "DAMNIT MAN THE DRIVERS DOING HIS BEST!" when you complain about the signs lack of change "ITS BETTER THAN NOTHING!".

How long until you think that situation will make you lose hope?

My point was, the driver shouldn't give estimates or give the impression that we're almost at our destination. He should just be honest and say "I have no idea."

EDIT: Oh and the other people in the car need to stop losing it and defend the driver/signs blindly.

You treat optimism as a disease to be chastised, games take time to develop, if you can't wait, go play something else. Distract the anticipation away. Personally, I enjoy the vast majority of the community that has been fostered here, waiting or none.

No I treat optimism as blind faith after repeated disappointments.

    EDIT: I should add.

As I said, my point was that the driver (representative of the developers) shouldn't have given estimates in the first place. Of course I would be optimistic now, if I hadn't previously been given three prior estimates that all fell through. They should've just stuck with "we have no idea".

I've waited for good things much much longer in the past, honestly this isn't that long of a wait for me.

That said, I can't speak for other people and their threshold. I can only imagine how infuriating it must be for others, and I wish I could be more than sympathetic of said situation for people.
[Though I won't deny I would take ALL my sick days immediately if the game was released the next day by some surprise, or even the beta.]

In game development, it is easy to say "this will take two weeks to implant and then that other thing will be ready in three days"
However, it always takes longer than expected, no matter if the game is amateur, fan-made, indie, has a large budget or is a triple A.

I want to ask that same question every day for almost a year. But knowing about it won't make the release come any sooner. Imagine they tell you it still takes 4 months. Now I'll be sad that for 4 months all i can do is hope for the time to pass. But now, not knowing anything, theres some part of me that hopes for the sudden surprise event that beta starts NOW today! And somehow thats a better thing to look forward to than to know its still FOUR MONTHS.

We're not driving in a car. We're on a rocket to a distant planet. It's going to take some fucking time for anything to have changed in a significant manner.

Hell, we had people asking for updates less than a week after it was released. Really, given the scope of the project do people think it possible for the nebulous numerical abstractions of progress to be meaningfully updated? I would expect an update every month or so. Which we are around that time at the moment. So, I'll wait around until some other, more enterprising forum member links to it or something, rather than bother myself about it.

Okay so it looks like a fetus, big deal. You try opening a portal and reaching through the space-time continuum and pulling out something that doesn't look like a fetus.
    Get back to work.

On a more on-topic note, pretty much what Corsair said. I don't want to discuss waiting that's just counter-intuitive. If you're interested in what we have to say go read other Threads with actual opinions about things that matter instead of things like this which we're pretty much all experiencing exactly the same way.

The first post from you that didn't made me want to smash my head on the table. Well the first i'm knowing about. No offense.

and some people think of it every day as an huge mountain still in front of them, not knowing that they are acually already over the peak. It's depending on your personality and nothing you or anybody else will ever change. So i beg you (representing for all patient ones) to accept and ignore begging impatient ones. Apparently it isn't ready yet - else there'd be a beta out. I try to be the person that says ''The game is ready when it's ready'', but it's difficult not to get somewhat annoyed the fact that even though pre-orders have opened, the release window is still really really vague - I honestly would be glad if they said it was ready, as would almost everyone.
