Are we going to see some optimization when unstable is released to stable?

I can stand the frames i get right now. 20 while in an (small) underwater base.

I doubt it. The shift to stable just means the bugs in the current build have been moved out.
I suspect optimization only to occur when the game is feature complete.

There are still some things which have yet to be fully materialized.
    • Vehicle techs need to become drivable objects
    • Underwater dungeon generation needs repairs
    • Modified Farming Mechanic
    • Terraforming
    • New Shopping system
    • Incomplete quest system

I expect optimization probably around march at this rate at the earliest.

You made my day with your expectations, my good sir. May I ask you March of what year? :p

Well probably by March This year - from what it looks like they might just push a few features to post 1.0.
Personally I think this game could use another year of development though, before hitting 1.0

The optimistic in me wishes to express the hope that they have finished most of the engine by now and should therefore be able to increase the update speed considerably.

The realist in me knows that game development is to complex to ever go as intendeed.

The pessimist in me is locked in a dark cell and arent allowed to voice his point of view.

I hope we can also write our own logs in a future update or stable.

I wonder what that bulldozer mod would be like with the new energy system...

The performance is absolutely atrocious right now and needs serious improvement. Trying to host a multiplayer server for a handful of friends has probably been one of the most painful things I've ever forced my computer to do - and that includes running a Garry's Mod server for much more than the highest total I've seen on my Starbound server.

Are you playing windowed or fullscreen? I noticed a huge performance boost on my system once i switched to fullscreen.

    HAHAHHAHAHa!

Dude, this has some of the best lighting systems in existence in 2d, not even terraria bests it.

Seriously, how aint the lighting system "done"?They even made every light source toggle-able, sand with the appropriate lighting applied to em, ya ain't getting this kind of detail from any other 2d game out there.

Even the falling snow can be shined upon, even the litle glowing dust storms iluminate, its more than done, and perfected.

I agree with everything you said. However, I was referring to optimization, which they've repeatedly said still needs to be done.

Ya lighting system still needs work - at least it isn't as bad as before when the Apex Jump Dungeon dropped fps to 10% because of those lighting object traps.
