I could say that augment system had more customization options for your gear, and it was interesting, next part is set bonuses are gone the only reason I see for that is that its like in terraria, so they removed set bonuses.
Adding different augments to armor parts and weapons could be quite cool, but nah, no customization for you.

Mods do a lot of that, custom races, clothe and armors, weapons, ships, more head options, hair options.....etc. You get the idea. The vanity slots that override the look of the armor you may be wearing are you custom look option and food gives buffs if you're looking for combat perks but you've got to work for that.

If I would empty mod template I would get minecraft instead of Starbound. Don't even send me to mod section, modding is nice and I could learn and create some mods for myself, use some mods from people etc. Point is game without mods should have that content and be fun and playable.

It is fun for people, lots of people are buying it every day, it's a shame it's not fun for a dozen or two people who constantly mention their sadness at certain things but millions bought this and most aren't complaining.....you can only speak for yourself or maybe link posts of other complaints but the number will always be small.

The point is everyone has their own idea of how some thing or another should be and the devs can never please anyone and they won't jump to one thing because a handful think it's how "things should be" or rework an entire system for some very few. The greatly unappreciated thing is that the developers put a lot of work to ensure this is mod friendly so every person can adjust their own experience where they cannot accommodate. That takes a lot of work for the developers and it's one of the hardest things they can do for the game itself....that's why 99% of games aren't all that mod friendly and modders can barely touch a few very simple things.....be happy that you can adjust your starbound experience, do so, and stop worrying about how others' experience will be, they can adjust it themselves just like you.....and lots of them will....to things you probably wouldn't like.

What makes your experience more relevant than others? Nothing.

I don't claim it is but I'm not here making demands of the dev team am I? I plan to adjust my own experience, no harm, no foul. But you can't make claims like it's not fun for people.....well, for which people, and how much of the player base can you prove they represent to say the dev team has to listen to demands? The thing is that even from among forum complaints, they've all over the place with no more than a handful wanting any given speciffic feature of thing.....there's nearly no agreement beyond being upset about the game....the devs can't listen to everyone, that's why they worked very hard and very long hours to make this game mod friendly.

Yes do more personal attacks on me, only 20 people on steam and 10 people here don't like the game, rest is just rainbows and unicorns.
Get real, there is more people that don't like the game in its current state than you think, but they don't post on forums, cause they moved to other games.
As far as winter update goes its many tweaks to existing things with some new things along the way, but more tweaks than new things.
New food system - bad - can't mix few bonuses from food cause after eating one its locked.
New energy system - bad - whats the point of rapid fire weapons when my energy recharging get lock down? Hell even trying to kill some mob on first planet from hunting bow causes lock down of energy way to fast. I don't like to be forced to constantly switch weapons.
Did you know you can have some Sci-Fi themed swords? But not in Starbound, cause its not a Sci-Fi game.

What personal attack? I merely pointed out some simple facts. If you found 10,000 complaints that's still be less than 1% and not many will be complaining about any one single thing, all dislike something different. Even if 100,000 players were upset, a 90%+ satisfaction is a grand thing for a game. They are also reworking the rapid fire weapons and all the small balance things.....it's in beta, complain about it when it's final and set in stone, even then some will be upset no matter how the dev team approach it, once final you can choose to fix final things with mods or stop playing but if they satisfy you they will disappoint someone else so they have to make a call....you may be happy or you may not, but choices will exist for those unhappy and some will inevitably choose to leave. This is normal, they can't please everyone.

I got into beta to give feedback, and you see feedback as complaining then its all clear.
After the ban phase this forums are almost clear from people that had some valid points, and critics about the game.
As I see it developers just surround themselves with people that have nothing to say beside: "I love your game."
And that is so damn sad.

I was just warned less than an hour ago for defending them.....none of the upset people were. I wanted clarification and I was clearly informed questioning moderators much equals a ban......and I actually paid a lot more than $15 for their game and plan on buying more copies. So I don't quite see your point there. Now I don't claim my money mean much to them in the grand scheme of things but positive word of mouth is a thing(I tell everyone who will listen about this and No Man's Sky 24/7, I live for these games and I don't matter one bit more than anyone else) and I have probably generated them at least a dozen sales so I can promise you they hold no favoritism.

A year of Early Access passed and I'm still left with nothing. I don't mind changes, but changes should upgrade things not downgrade them, and few old features just got massive downgrade in winter update. More and more things is just oversimplified without any valid reasons to do so, and that mockup at the top of this thread is one of those things.

Moon Mine mission was so bad I don't even have words for it, it was just go down push few switches to open some doors and then after getting to the bottom press final switch.
It was boring like hell, no interactions, not a story, its just SIMPLE go to the bottom of this dungeon and press the switch thing.

I'm sorry that the changes are against your likes but these things will happen. Development is a very long road with a lot of bumps for every developer. They had over 1 million worth of pledges and I've been around crowdfunding enough to know that 95%+ are usually the lowest price that will get them the game, that's a lot of pledges.....and then a lot of early access buyers. This is always a risk and I've backed games that went against my tastes. All I can say is, wait for full releases in the future and don't buy into early access....I'm not attacking you bro but it is a very real risk.

    You didn't understand a thing.
I'm here cause the game have possibility to change for something better. Moon Mine mission needs changes, like many other things, and still after a year of early access game seems more incomplete alpha than beta, and things go downgrade instead of upgrade.

Not to mention the development cycle was closed in nightly branch, that is not playable and its quite hard to give any feedback on how some things are if you just spawned everything with admin commands cause that was only way to progress.
Many early access games got many nice updates. Starbound didn't get any real, playable updates.
Nightly broken builds are more like: "you see we are working, now shut up".
Its like a slap in the face, not nice at all.

What version are you playing? If you're playing the last stable you can relax because it's ancient, we're getting a new stable this month, that will be incorporating a lot compared to last stable. A lot of the early missions can be completed now but they just finished reworking the game's basic features a few months ago and quests are going to be polished up soon. We're going into a cycle of more stable updates up to release so for now I'll take the best words from Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy: Don't Panic. They are really in the final stages and content implementation believe it or not comes last because the game has to first have the main features to support certain types of quests and content.....now that is mostly done and all the sweet stuff is incoming fast.

Starbound makes me feel like I am playing with a brick. Actually, I would probably have more fun with a brick.
Starbound is so boring it makes me cringe. The devs are not putting any effort into making the game good, it's just features features and more useless features.

"ooh look guize we added mini dungeons"

Me: "Okay, so now when I go underground I can occasionally find a chest and a pretty little building, now how does that improve the major issues with this game?"

    Answer: Not at all.

Starbound has so many major outstanding issues that are just not being dealt with.
Many of these things can be dealt with in a matter of minutes, but the devs are too busy adding stupid details that no one needs.

I wanted a sandbox space adventure game.
I got a game with sticks and stones.
    Also: pickaxes.

And to the people who basically auto-direct to the modding section:
People want to buy an actually good game that has decent mechanics and good gameplay and not have to install countless mods to make the game playable.

Why can't I craft castle bricks devs? Why? It literally takes 2 minutes to add a crafting recipe for it. Other countless items have no recipes, or they don't function like they should (Air tank). These little things add more to the game and would take a very short time to implement. I would actually like to explore asteroids without having to hack in items or enable god mode.

All the mockup images did say mockup under it.
The rest of the images were assets which existed once upon a time and were abandoned.
The mockup images were really beautiful

That's because most played the stable, liked it, and then went on to patiently wait for the next stable or full release. I haven't played in months for the same reason....the stable was sweet and a good sign of things to come and now I patiently wait for the next stable and release.
