Are things really that bad for humans?

Not recently, but back in the day this was more the case, whether it was a sour turn of events at the cold war, alien invasion, or what have you. America was always the country of the resistance, and the rest of the world is just waiting for their move.

 

still, it's gotta suck for humans. I mean having your home planet either being destroyed or taken over by some monster... that is never good.

 

But atleast humans have bases. Hylotl don't have any bases.

 

Exactly. The lore states that we were the first species to gain space travel, but for much of that time were still limited to our own solar system. When the tentacles attacked, we had a major colony on Mars, and some scattered colonies across the stars as well as military bunkers/penal colonies. In Greenfinger's notes about Humans, he mentioned not knowing if the humans had a delegation, which implies they are relatively new to the other races.

 

which means that Humanity would be a Wild Card to the other races. an unknown variable that could work out greatly in the other races favor. that being said, Humanity having it's home being ravaged probably has at least some of the other races feeling sorry for them, the hylotl being chief among them since they know about how hard it is to have something like that happen.

 

Yeah, Greenfinger was talking about wanting us as allies, but given the current situations of all of them, the most likely I think I'd have humanity ally with, if we do ally, is the Hylotl.

 

We know that Florans have been in contact with humanity, possibly the first to establish contact, since they've had border wars for quite a while. Which apparently established for Humanity why Florans are not a race to take lightly.

So Greenfinger probably knew of Humans, but didn't take express interest until he heard of the tentacle comet issue.

This might actually tie in to the Agaran issue as a whole. I mean, far as we know General Kale is the closest to a central representative of Humanity.

Florans still hunt Hylotl

The Hylotl didn't have a stable military (if they ever had one), never mind an experienced military commander
The Hyotl don't have any city's or settlements left, as far as gameplay is concerned, they're been burned to the ground
All Hylotl millitary outposts have been decimated

There is no mention of any Hylotl government after the war (there are references to imperialism, and that would be worse due to there only being one emperor at a time). There are no Hylotl colonies.

This makes a lot of sense

Avian=Humanity would look down or criticize a culture that openly sacrifices its followers and would make the Human religious debate more heated and so would want to distance themselves from such, also the Avians are proud people and wont take kindly to this.

Apex=Assuming earth is mostly democratic, they're polar opposites yet very similar to humans and would either become nemesis's or greatest allies, judging by how humans treat themselves I'd say the first is more likely.

Floran=Earth has had border wars with the Floran and so are probably already enemies, as well as their belief differences.

Glitch=I'd imagine Humans would ally well with the self-aware glitch (assuming terminator never existed) but i doubt they would take the Hive-mind seriously.

Hylotl=The only pacifist race in star-bound so no/small chance of war, both lost their home-planets so something to build on, due to being a diplomatic race, can help introduce them to the universe in a non destructive/non-aggressive way which they badly need due to the prisons and the military bases.

Florans hate Hylotl, there's no indication in lore or otherwise that the Florans put forth any concerted military effort to continue hounding the Hylotl.

That's odd, cause I'm rather certain that certain hylotl armor indicates that they most definitely do have defense corps and there's nothing suggesting said corps lack structure.

In fact four tiers of their armor specifically reference Hylotl militant groups. But yeah, sure no military.

Have none left, or none that've been implemented? I'm pretty sure we both know which one is untrue.

I thought the Hylotl lived Underwater in Underwater Settlements... how does one go about burning down Settlements surrounded by lots & lots of Water...?

Then again, ya can freeze to death in an Asteroid Field as a Monster is Flamethrowering ya to death... so...
