are they still trying to get this out this year?

havent been around in a while so i was wondering if tiy or anyone has said anything as far as still being on schedule or pushing the time line back'

 

The most recent "official" word on it was they are hoping for it. But if you look at the current progress and what they want it to look like at release, they probably have more than 2 months of work left.

From the recent livestream, and the fact that Chucklefish seems to be a company of perfectionists when it comes to Starbound, I would guess late December or early next year. The building mechanics look pretty polished up, as well as the complete set of races (until later updates, post-release), but other aspects such as combat and generation need a lot of work.

 

I agree. Alot can get done in two months and it would be an awesome Christmas present from them! ^w^

Tiy has also stated that there's a chance they will have to push release into next year.

 

Watched the live stream and my guess is that we won't see a release this year. I have a feeling that much content is still missing and other corners need some polish. The game looks finished but we have not seen every part of it and this gives me the impression that there is still much work to do.

There's not much time left till the end of the year and they not only have to finish the game but run some bug testing on it. I suppose that if we don't hear a release date until the end of this month than it won't happen this year. Could be wrong.

 

As much as I'd like to play now, I want them to take as long as they need to in order to make the game the best it can be when we finally get our hands on it.

2014 would be pushing it, but I would be patient enough for summer 2013 if it meant the game would be 10 times better

Was hoping to play on christmas, but will gladly wait to february when my studies end if the game will be better

 

i keep telling myself its going to be may 2013 at the earliest

maybe ill be pleasantly surprised. i better not be disappointed...
