Are they gonna force us to make new characters for the ship update?

I bet they are.

 

Probably. I've put the game on hold for now until Chucklefish releases info on when there will no longer be character wipes. Though it concerns me slightly that maybe we'll never have that security with how much large updates they intend. That's not to say that's a bad thing either, but people in general tend to like consistency to some extent.

Read back on the news feed a bit, they are trying to fix it where no more wipes are needed. But there will need to be at least 1 more before that. Sorry. ^.,^'

 

from what ive been reading tiy is trying to get a function that requires content update without needing to do a character wipe.
that being said he also said we have one or two more wipes before the content stream is a go

I think that they should make this be the wipe they wanted to use. And then go forth from there to not wipe again until its fully released. Thats my thought on it.

-Sighs- Sorry, Its beta. Wipes are to be expected, says so when you start the game. They have to wipe characters when they change a key factor in the characters themselves, when they implement racials, they will prolly need to be wiped. x.x So... Yeah, if you don't like wipes, wait a bit? Put playing off for a month or so maybe? There isn't much to tell you about the wipes, they are trying to make it where wipes are not needed, but.. yeah. Shiz happens.

oh wow, so you really have no idea what the word "own" means. or do you? then please go ahead and delete my post from the thread.

 

I understand this. But its needed. Having a wipe before release means that they can add in some final touches and then let everyone run wild after release.
