Are these Apex?

I found these villagers in a small town and they said somethings that made it look like they used to be Apex.

 

No idea.

 

I think they're simply "ColorfulVillagers" or something, as they haven't been officially named. However, some of the things they say seem to imply that they are/were Apex, but have amnesia or have had their thoughts reassigned.

Greenfinger is one of the legendary NPCs that has done a lot of genetic engineering, and Big Ape likes to do "thought reassignment" so it's possible that they are a collaboration from the two bigwigs, and the result came out looking like the Teletubbies.

Or, they're a precursor to Starbound: The Clone Wars.

I think it's likely that they are a genetic experiment, some people say they are what the Apex used to be before they changed back but they are said to have looked like humans.

Update: I have learned that they drop Kiwi...

The coordinates are x= 9177041 y=10021994 in Alpha.

I've never seen any myself, but they look kinda.. adorable?

I hope they are either what the Apex were before they became full ape people, or an experiment by Big Ape or Greenfinger. Maybe both together?
