Are there going to be elemental weaknesses and immunities put on enemies?

I heared Tiyuri talk about this and was just wondering if it was going to be in 1.00 or a later patch.

 

When did you hear about this?

I remember a LONG while back that elemental weaknesses/resists/stats were something being worked with / tested -- but to my knowledge they were never a locked feature.

 

They mentioned planning to do something with monster immunities and resistances somewhere around the combat update. But only god (and possibly chucklefish, but i doubt it ) knows if it will actually happen.
