Araneae Vulcanus

A rough sketch for my idea. Will be taken into photoshop to be turned into a digital painting and then pixel-ized.

A potentially planet sized space spider, it hibernates around the core of a planet, feeding off it's warmth.

It is usually passive, it goes about it's business and is too big to even notice you.

In the unlikely situation where it does notice you, it will erupt lava out of it's spider-ass (not a scientifically valid term) and incinerate your and your ship. It disguises as a mountain when on a planet with it's big ass spider booty.

When not feeding off a planet, it floats through space on solar sails that it makes from it's own spider silk. It can also catch planets in a giant web or something. Point being this thing is huge and scary.

I don't know if it is weird or not if a giant space spider shoots lava out of his butt.

Oh boy so there this game called Demon Souls where there's a spider that spits meteors and have a fire breath...

If it happens to me after eating Mexican food, I'm plenty sure it's normal for space spiders.

 

I'm not even sure if that is actually the spider's ass.
