Approximate time on the character wipe?

Jeez, what a gang of vicious jerks.

A guy comes here, asks a question about the time of the wipe, states that he has trouble finding the motivation to play a game he paid for until after said wipe and you don't even hesitate to go for the jugular, treating him like he's stupid, annoying, worthless and unfit to touch something that you, oh elite person who is really in the same boat as he, so aggressively....defend? I guess that's what it is?

He's not saying he wont ever report bugs and that he hates that there are bugs or whatever ruffles your feathers so much that you feel the need to be snarky and condescending, he's just asking if anyone knows when the wipe is coming because he'll feel better about getting back into the game after this one's come. That makes sense.

After all, how are you going to find and report bugs if you don't play, even if all you're doing is amassing fun looking blocks.

still waiting on the forums to blow up with 'PATCH IS HERE' threads. im excited to play the update but i have no interest in playing at present since we'll be wiped. sure i was well-informed about the wipes, but thats just the kind of gamer i am.

a 'which-day' ETA at least would be nice so we dont have to keep checking the forums every hour of every day... mmmm cant wait

 

As much as I dislike the idea of the wipe, you somehow made it way more philosophical and, simply ... easier to embrace. Nice;y done, lad.

 

I've got my journal with just about every planet I visited, what I found there, how many mini bosses, the ore, ect ect. I don't even care about the wipe. Everyone is losing their minds over it, this is beta, you knew what to expect. Should have taken the time to write some stuff down is all I'm saying. Not trying to be mean, but they told us to expect character wipes. And even if the coordinate seeds change, it's all good, it's beta folks. Get used to it.

Did...did you even read the OP? They asked a simple question regarding approximately -when- the wipe will happen.

And to answer said OP: Nobody has a concrete answer yet, the best we've been given is they're aiming for sometime today or tomorrow.

That's cute, really. OP was answered multiple times and this thread has degraded into a mournful complaining spot about how people are not going to play anymore because of the wipe, this is wrong, ect ect. Curious though, Did... did you even read the thread? He's been answered already, this has just become another fest of people basically talking about how the character wipe is going to anger them in obscene ways. Step back to your ship, Geo. No reason to call me out.

 

Phirst, the patch is incoming either tonight or sometime tomorrow. Follow the developers twitter for more up to date information likely. I'm not sure of an aprox time that the patch will go live, we're all waiting on that info I think.

There isn't an 'official' response. Mollygos mentioned on her Twitter that they were "aiming for tomorrow", yesterday.

I actually have read the thread (lol rhymes). From what I've seen nobody was actually complaining about the wipe, only several people complaining about people complaining about the wipe, and of course people asking about the details of the wipe itself, such as it being character or universe specific. Not to mention your post which I responded to prior was entirely irrelevant to the thread's entire purpose and only served to fuel the theoretical flame of people complaining, well that and it was worded in a fairly rude manner in regards to the OP for no particular reason.

 

You know often times when they do a major update the strings change and all the random things re-random themselves. This happened in minecraft where sharing of seeds were obsolete between patches. just be ready to pucker just in case all your hard work was for not.
