Resolved Application threw exception during startup

Getting the attached error when running Starbound executable (uninstalled a 2015 version, reinstalled via Steam). Error persists when launched from Windows Explorer. Running Win7 SP1, no mods. Log also attached, any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Thanks for the reply - uninstalling and reinstalling from Steam provides the same error; Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets appears to be populated normally. Is there a flag somewhere that might cause the game to not see the assets?

edit: on closer inspection, the date modified for some of the files is 2014 - these look like unpacked assets from an early access build I had installed. I'll try uninstalling, deleting any remaining files in a Steam folder, then reinstalling.
