Apex ships should be less futuristic, more retro. (Please read, especially devs!)

On the note Of ship building, I've been doing mostly custom/sandbox ships myself. But with that the main design I've grown to love is glass-dome ships. Gives you a great view of the planet, and I often turn these "glass roof" top parts of my ship into a greenhouse...

 

what confuses me is why glitch towns/ships are medieval..arnt they like, erm, robots?!?

 

In the codex it explains the Glitch where originally an experiment on Evolution/empires; and while all the other colonies killed themselves as they evolved/grew into power, the glitch for some reason clung onto the ways of old. (thus being called the glitch)

Well if you visit enough glitch villages, you'll actually find the codex, and even a lot more history then that you start out with as a glitch.

...I really don't think that the Apex need a new aesthetic. I personally like their sleek look- Even if their lore is very 1984/Planet of the Apes, there's no retro-ness associated with their actual look for anything. They're a futuristic militaristic society- Everything there reflects that, and I think that's great.

That being said, I wouldn't be against a retro race. However, I don't think it's needed, and I certainly wouldn't want one of the existing races sacrificed or completely redesigned for it. My take on a steampunk race is similar, however, the Glitch already have some steampunkishness going for them, and I'm sure the Novakid will too, at least in some way.

While the dominated civilians are forced to live in the retro,less developed cities the governament has built,they are forced to be like that,otherwise Big Ape will just sorta rip out their brain...

This Disparity of technology is what makes the Apex so interesting,how the rebelion is atempting to overcome the Tirany of that stupid lil meatsack Big Ape.

So my opinion is simple,stick to what ya got for it is great,if the Devs begin to think it doesent fit anymore,they would have to totaly rewrite the lore of one of the races and also remake just about every single structure,wich I believe to be verry unlikely to happen,no?

Stick with this stuff,my only request is I can SOMEWHERE IN THE FUTURE just beat the BEJUBUS outta Big Ape as a Floran.

As I understand it they aren't evolved human. They are full alien but their race was very humanlike. The tech they developed to increase brain power devolved their bodies.

 

I just sort of wish their ship would switch with the humans ship. No new ships just switch them cause I think it would fit them both better. But that's just me.
