Pretty good work. I like it. They're supposed to look like apes. It says right in the name; Apex. And it does look like an ape.
FYI humans are apes. EDIT: Also, it's worth noting that it's implied that Apex are somewhere on a highly variable sliding scale between ape and human.
Wow, much negativity from those above. IDK, I'm pretty sure this is under FANART. If it was an official artwork made by someone paid to create an explicit depiction of what's in the game, it might be warranted. I don't see why you have to slam the art. I think it's very well done. However, my criticism is that I believe it's way over-sexualized, and it doesn't look quite Apex enough. You should be able to tell the difference between humans and Apex aside from hair. Otherwise, well done. Also, the humans = apes part... Is based on a theory. Humans are biologically closer to pigs than apes
I.. uhhh 1. No comment to the above post. 2. to the "Not an ape" comments: Is it that hard to see the connection between the Apex and... ? Op yours is fine. (maybe a bit more muscle and a different nose, but your character looks completely doable with the in-game options available) I dig the sideburns.
What? If you look at the DNA/genetic structure between humans and pigs, you see that it is about 99% the same. Humans and pigs are closer to each other biologically than any other animal on the planet is to human beings.

Uhhh.... What have I done.... Thank you everyone for the comments. Discussions are awesome, as long as kept clean. Planning on drawing another whenever I get some time. That was sliiiightly intended, due to my audience, but also for 2 reasons. One, just because she's an Apex, doesn't mean she doesn't have the innate to want to look good. Many female animals in the animal kingdom, are the ones to flaunt to bring in their male counterpart. Male gather and it is the female that chooses their mate. (Though I am not sure how Apex would handle mating >__>) Other is, she is a ship crew member, so she more innocent looking, than say a member of a scout team who is geared up to explore the harsh weather. That being sad, I will try to keep that in mind when I do the next piece of work.

But both taxonomically and in common English usage, we're apes. Since Apex are neither human nor ape, their relation to pigs is irrelevant (also a wildly misleading statistic), but for the purposes of determining whether an Apex was drawn to "look like" an ape, being more human than gorilla still counts. Good on ya, OP.

I can understand that. If you look through gallery after gallery everything begins to look the same. Then again, everything does when it becomes this popular. Imagine if instead of anime, people followed Bob Ross and did nothing but landscapes? Everything would look the same. But i see where you're coming from.
