Anything to do after the fiery planet missions?

In earlier starbounds you could change sectors and progressively get harder planets... My brother and I beat all the main missions, up to and including the fiery planets, within 24 hours... Now we're sitting with 700dmg spears and not entirely sure where to go or what to do next... I'd like to hope that there's a way to get to a new sector, or harder planets than "extreme" threat, and find higher tier weapons.... Or is this all there is right now?

That's really all there is. For now, I'd hope. Think of "Extreme" threat planets as Sector X. You're in the endgame.

Sector X was levels 6 to 10, but the stuff on Extreme planets is equivalent to what was on level 5. We lost half the "content", so to speak.

Well, that sucks. I was hoping for a little bit more play time in this update. I guess we shouldn't have beat it so fast! thanks for the info, though.

Well, if you don't mind mods, there's a mod called "Mysterious Stars" that adds in stars named exactly like it, and they're essentially Level 7. You don't get missions, but you could try exploring them for additional challenges, as the planets contain all types of ores. Plus, tentacle planets![/shamelesspromoting] I'm not sure if it works on stable, though.

Additionally, if you don't use mods, after the Fiery Star missions you're essentially in a full-blown Wide-Open Sandbox mode. Think of it as after you defeated the Wall of Flesh in Terraria. You could try building a massive base.

Also, Fiery Stars are not level 5, they're level 6. Thing is that Gentle Stars are both Level 1 and Level 2 - Lush worlds are Level 1(Harmless) while Forest and Desert worlds are Level 2(Mostly Harmless). Just thought I'd point that out.

The Mysterious Stars doesn't add to the game at all. It just makes the monsters have higher health and hit harder. Not really progression for the game nor longevity. If it added armor and all that, then it would be a useful mod.
