Anything other than special cloths and fire to keep warm?

I am happy with the temperature system as is, top notch so far but... as I laid in bedroom as my second Glitch and starting to somehow freeze leading to a small scramble to set up a campfire in the bedroom of my quant little bungalow, I wondered... is there anything less bad looking than multiple campfires to keep warm in the various parts of your settlement?

I mean, i get that the main point is planet hunting and stuff like that, but I somehow like making home bases and if I need to have campfires everywhere... it just doesn't look good and the Winter Gear takes a looooong time to make seeing how the Bows don't get good for a while and leather seems to have a low chance of dropping.

I wonder... is there any other ways to keep warm during the night other than Special Clothes and various Fires? Like a radiator maybe? I mean, the game's tech is probably advanced enough to have a heater or something, right?

 

Yes, there's a radiator and I'm pretty sure it keeps you warm, too. It looks exactly like you think it does and is found in appropriate dungeons.

 

Possibly furnaces and the glitch fireplaces you find... I believe most cooking furniture items produce heat, but unsure how much for each.

As to what the person above mentioned, I am unsure which dungeon or what it would look like, unless you are talking about the water heater in the USCM. That might, but I have never tried that before....

 

There's a craftable nano-stove (I think the portable pixel printer unlocks the recipe), a radiator, a space heater, and I think torches provide some heat too.

 

Well I know they aren't avian. They might be Apex, and no I'm pretty sure they are radiators like the ones you see if you type the word into Google Images.

 

Hmm... gathered most of the avian and apex stuff into the 3D scanner.... Might have a look to see if I didn't notice it when scanning things in. that was more than a week ago I think that I did that. I had quite a chunk of furniture stuff and décor scanned before the last ship/world wipe. From then I figured out 3D scanner stuff is saved in the character file.

If I don't have it scanned then i guess I'll have to go looking. Haven't been to the Human prison yet, so that is a possible place to look. Been to quite a chunk of the current dungeons and villages. Just got the Floran village yesterday, as well their dungeon/prison... Been to most of the Apex stuff already, unless I missed a facility. Just realized it is called a space heater and not a water heater, although resembles a variety that I have seen... lol
