Anyone know what is this?

i will be so sorry if this thread was made before i just did a research here and google and didnt found something about it. maybe i did it with the wrong words even i tried looking in the wikia but i didnt found something about it.

Anyway on my travels to find techs (Gravity bubble*, mecha if anyone have found these in the new version i will appreciate it)
i found something that its like a dog house and a dog (on a previous planet i found a cat but sadly i didnt take a screen and forgot the coordinates)

Anyone know if that its a "pet" to be taken or just a npc? thanks for the info:

I don't think you can make pets out of the dogs/cats and they are a new addition I believe since the last patch. but I think you'll eventually be able to.

I've seen one of these too. I needed some sleep and that kennel was surprisingly comfortable.

 

Has anyone tried to capture one using a pokeba~ er, capture pod?

 

You can sleep in the dog house. I find this hilariously awesome.

 

Fossils were a stretch goal.

"Fossils are the remains of long dead creatures scattered throughout Starbounds universe. They’re extremely valuable, very rare and very difficult to dig up. You’ll need special tools to clear the dirt and unearth a fossil. Removing the wrong piece of dirt could cause the fossil to crumble into dust. Successfully removed fossils can be placed as trophies, some have very special properties and perhaps some of these long dead creatures can even be revived."

Maybe they are teasing?

 

I believe that bone is meant for that dog, not a fossil

oh god, I just killed it.

 

I tried to catch one (under half of his hp) but it didn't work. Tried it multiple times. Seems like we can only catch normal monsters.

 

Sorry pal, i was about to put the coordinates but i left the planet since im really interested on recover my tech skill gravity bubble* (already found), but i found another planet with the same things the only different thing its the dog color.

you would like to start walking from the left since you will find some weapons with Fire element (i found a fire shotgun, a fire machinegun a fire pistol) there a lot of apex facilities, 2 big apex facilities, and abandoned apex facilities, people looking for cerilium this planet have tons of it on the surface i managed to collect like 640 cerilium ore only on the surface, i found some kind of floran caged by people that looks like those mushroom people (btw that florean caged is a food merchant) a lot of the chests in the surface have some goodies. and one of the chest in apex facility have an pink wear. its a pretty pretty long travel i didi a walk of like 4 days and never reach the place where i started (but also i dont have many techs to help me move in the planet only dasn and impulse jump) oh yeah also found a tool spawner here.

 

Never seen one of those... and probably new like the rest mentioned, as the doggies were not in game in prior update far as I know.

The kennel is a bed so you can take it and put it anywhere.

So, I don't know if this is usual, but it seems highly unusual. I found this Frog Merchant store right next to the Lab/Dungeon I set down in. Now, since I got the game three days ago that is pretty interesting to begin with, but what is going on here? Why is the frog bathing in dogs like Scrooge bathes in money?

 

Did you know that if you extract the DNA of a dog you find (use a DNA extractor, which works much like a brain extractor), do the same with a cat, then bring it to an Apex lab containing a DNA sequencing machine, you can then combine their DNA and create the ultimate of pets: Cat-dog.


A cat-dog makes an excellent space companion. Their bodies work surprisingly well in low or no-gravity situations. They also have fur to protect them from the harsh, cold environments. However, as they have two heads, they will require ample oxygen (as of next patch, current patch doesn't take atmosphere into effect).

Also, in addition to everything I've stated so far, I just made it all up.
