Sigh, damn this thread. It made me realy tempted to build a planet entirely out of metal, would take ages. Hmm, on the otherhand if they make the planned "director mode" easy to use we could allways make all this stuff later with our own missions.

Dood. Imagine taking a small moon, and making it fromt he ground up to be like the 'Moon Base' mission and having it be some big labrynthian den of doom~ You should do it, and even enlist others to help do groundwork. Doom~

Yes, but the lunar base could have been scary... maybe if the mutated enemies did something besides a cute "Bwoop!" sound and hop towards you, or if the walls were covered in some kind of cry for help. Even if the miners said something to flesh out what happened there would be a plus.

Right now I'd have to say the scariest thing in the game is your own imagination and paranoid brain thinking what lurks beneath, and in a away that's what space can do to you. But as for a scary mission, I'd say the only real scary one is the Florian dinner party. (They are going to eat you and there is very little chance of escape)

Take a whole bunch of doctor who vibes, throw them into a planet with no escape and boom! Everyone's happy unless it brings about plot-holes

Hah, was drifting around in ocean. There was this huge silhouette that made me freak for a moment and the group of fish ate a rocketlauncher round before I could confirm the Lovecraftian village.

    I ate fish. *sigh*

Seems like a big fear is the ocean or the moon, yet no one seems that afraid of un-dead rising from tar pits, living poop monsters or even space parasites (Which look allot like jelly fish)

It would be frightening/awesome to explore a full size planet/moon dungeon. With not able to place anything to mark your trail in a dark maze of extreme danger, I know I'd probably get lost. Only if you couldn't (or wouldn't have to) cheese your way out of anywhere just by exiting the game, getting lost would have more meaning. I could just imagine getting forever lost in a such place...

I would prefer xenomorphs over necromorphs. The spooky elder god space evil is always interesting either way.

Quiet, flickering lights, and the winding expanse of forgotten homes. Empty ways. If done right, you can spook yourself as you loose yourself in a ghost town asteroid. I dunno why, but that fascinates me, that environment. Maybe add a splash of inspiration from the Cowboy Bebop episode 'Things in the Closet' I think, it was about a 'monster' in the space ship.
