Anyone Else Not Bother With the NPCs?

I run into Linus all the time on the way to the mine so I gift him food. I see Pam a lot because she drives the bus, I give her beer and wine. Aside from those two I just don't have enough time and in my real life I'm a hermit.

 

I ignore everyone except Linus.

I run into him on the way to the mine and he likes basically all food. I always have a surplus when mining, and I think his sprite is cute, so I give him 2 gifts a week and stop for a chat. Plus I think his dumpster diving was a strangely endearing cutscene.

I'm pretty shy and reclusive in real life too.

Once I'm established in the game I will focus on befriending the NPC's (probably just birthday gifts for all the non-marriage-candidates), so no, you're not the only one who enjoys playing solo. There's so much to do I don't feel like talking to the NPC's even if they will send me gifts.

I'd just rather peacefully explore. And rummage through their trash like a creepy hermit farmer.

 

I tend to completely ignore them for the majority of my first year while I'm trying to get my farm cleared, crops planted, fish caught and mining done. Then that completionist itch hits me, I remember grandpa is coming back and I run around bribing people to like me and make up for lost time.
