Hi folks, I think I've ran in major wall doing mission to fix FTL drive. With steel armor (which is recommended), monsters with weapons kill me in one hit, and the weapons I can get at that point in the game (steel tier) deal very little to no damage to them. Is there any gotcha to it? Is there anything else I can do or craft, like a chance to get titanium in the home system? Anyone else having troubles killing guys with weapons at lunar base? Please, help me... I've been banging my head on it whole evening
The balance is definitely majorly borked right now. Someone made a video: Like you he had full steel, he found a sword that had better DPS than the steel 1-hander, and some guns that had around the same DPS as his weapons. The fight was a total insane joke. Even against the easier enemies it's not much better. He has some longer videos on his account, including several half-hour videos of him retrying the mission and cheesing it as hard as possible until he finally managed to beat it.
I used the weapon that does the most damage in a single hit (preferable a 2h weapon) due to enemy armor. Of course those final few enemies are still pretty imbalanced. Enemy armor mechanics still need some work.
Hmm... I didn't have too much trouble with those guys. I largely used a blowgun that I found in an oasis and it seemed to do the job pretty well. Things might have changed since I played last week though.
So here's the hint. Double jump to the ledge above for the first axe weilder; then use the steel crossbow. Second/third ones in the same area, aggro one at a time and hop on the ledge in the room. The axe weilders don't jump. Then it's just a arrow-charge-arrow game until they die, and you're pretty much done. The gambit is up when they get jump skills, however...
Um I'd try opening that switch in the middle and then rushing to the left. There are some human npc helpers and a path you can take to avoid that guy. I got off guard the first time, but managed the second, without using the npcs. For some reason those guys have high defense. I used a shotgun that did 15 dmg (all shots hit) and switched to a grenade launcher that did 50ish dmg.
I've had a bigger problem, I have finished the mission (I found you could just run through) and I had a full inventory. I finished the mission and got no reward for it. I can't fix the engine, meaning I'm completely stuck. Has anyone else had this happen?
