That's exactly whey they didn't go down that path. Too predictable.

The only thinggggg I doon't like about them..... is how they reproduce.

But then I'm a mammal and I don't play one loooking for ingame dates or to start a family with a bird person.

I guess they are too busy stabbing things to read books? You could always change their dialog with mods.

I love playing the Florans for that reason itself. They are a very "blunt" and face front species, with variety of personalities varying from brutal, untrusting, immoral, to Loyal, and friendly.
They are like Orc's from fantasy games. Also their accent really "grows" on you. Just like how Glitch state how they say things. After awhile it fits how their culture is.
As for the spiritual connection to the earth issue. That would be the Avians. At this young of a civilization Floran do not understand the concept of gods, spirits, or even why they exist. As for Avians their whole culture revolves around their religion, which is alike to the Mayan culture.
Really if you compare realistically the human race as a culture and compare the other races cultures you will see that it is in a chronological order with how we developed.
Think Floran as a in between of Natives and Cavemen.
Heres the wiki if you want a better explanation how Floran psyche varies. Wiki

so if im reading this correctly, you would stuff a very buggy game with content, then have to do more work when debugging? thats a genius idea there. rofl, please know exactly what you talk about before telling someone they would "suck".

I do not often argue in other peoples rabble, but please be more constructive with your oppositional view instead of insinuating ignorance and expecting the extreme of Fibriels opinion.
Also I did not see this person use the word "suck" at all. This person seemed logical and constructive with their opinion.
Please be more respectful, it seems so far this thread has had a bad track record with flame wars and trolling.
It really shouldn't need a continuation.

I'll certainly walk away, but if this what I'm to expect from the Starbound community, I don't think I will be coming back for a long time.
Too passive-aggressive, too much "cabin fever" courtesy of the update doldrums...just too stressful for no good reason.

    Best of luck.

Mate, join the Chat section. We/I usually stray from the general, due to the rabble.

This thread is getting derailed by many such personal attacks... let's try to just plow on through them, no?

It's not worth getting all bent out of shape about. Some people are just very antagonistic, and it's best to let these sleights go rather than unhinging the whole thread just to get 'the last word in'. Tempting as it may be sometimes.

And to bring my own contributions back towards the actual topic of the thread, I'd like to state for the record that I play all of the races. I have several characters, of both genders, for each of the races in the vanilla game AS WELL as several of the custom races added by mods. Never once have I found myself bothered or 'hating' the Floran personality... because I understand well enough that the REAL personality of my character doesn't come from the use of the 'magnifying glass' but my personal interactions with the universe. Those little observation blurbs are for FUN, and a bit of 'racial perspective'. They're not meant to be taken as literally as some folks seem to think.

Shrug them off. It's what I do. It's their stress. Doesn't have to be yours too.

    1) Please at least attempt to be civil to your fellow forum posters.
    2) You're wrong.
    3) Here's why you're wrong: the engine is crafted to allow Raze and I (and everyone else who implements JSONs) to implement dialogue and codexes incredibly easily. There's no debugging required with NPC dialogue or codexes: if the game runs, then it's working. No ifs or buts about it.
    4) Please know exactly what you're talking about before making wild, unsubstantiated comments about how the game engine works.

    cheers

Out of curiosity Deman. Were you part of the crew that works on Examine dialogue? X3

  14. To say that "this" is what you can expect from the Starbound community -- would be absolutely insulting to the many great people we have here. To judge them all based on your poor experience here, would be a mistake.

Anyways. I'm not going to fight this thread. :coffee:
