Anyone else find mineshafts?

I was exploring a planet I just chose at random.... well not so much random and just a nice color and forest seeing how I don't want to freeze on snow or suffocate on moon or get bored from arid/desert aaaaand... I think I found a Mineshaft. I haven't really seen a thread on it before.

So, anyone find one? What's it populated by? etc and so forth.
Mine appears to be filled with Yellow Marshmallow Peeps of aggression and giant flies. Also, a lot of processed ore.
It appears to go deeper but had to make this thread first.
    More as I delve deeper!

Those are great for new flashlights and instruments. On the surface there's normally a little campsite near it. I love instruments. The koto is the best instrument...

Yep, ran across several, unfortunately I don't recall if its on any of the planets + coordinates that I've saved, plus I really didn't find much beyond some pixels and a few bars of copper.

But yea I've found a few with a campsite on the surface, then they go down. One had bandits at the campsite so at first I thought there was going to be a nest of them. Turned out they were just up there.

I always thought it was a camp area. If this was a mineing camp you would think there would be evidence of mineing.

These are odd. I haven't figured out their purpose either. Sometimes I find entrances to these on the surface, but usually they're much farther down. I usually find a lot of flashlight variants, and it's a great way to get free metal crates. Past that, I'm not sure if they have a purpose. It'd be interesting to find them populated with the actual miners and have some meaningful interaction. Maybe that's coming :pwease:

Perhaps if you play your glorious koto, you'll attract all the nearby inhabitants and they shall mine for you.

Inb4 that would make the game easy comments.

But yeah. It would be cool if you could hire/convince them to mine for you.

But, it's only natural for all things, big and small, to flock to the melodies seeping from your marvelous instrument.

Even when roaming the deserts and forests, when swimming in lakes and mining in holes, you should always keep your trusty koto strapped on your back, in case you find a wild creature to be tamed. Naturally, it follows you along with the tunes - for not even the brainless of creatures can deny the koto.

As you sit down by the campfire after a day's well mine, you fumble your arms to you back, and you notice your trusty koto is there for you. When you start plucking the notes of Canon in D, all the high level creatures fall prey to its awesome grasp, succumbing to only follow you and love your music.

I have no idea what I am writing, it's 4:35 AM.

But you get it - the Koto is amazing.

In that case I hope they are slightly drunk, found some Whiskey and they better be drunk if implemented, so help me if they aren't.

Yes... Yes... Find the Koto. Just... Just play Canon in D and you'll witness the amazing-ness of it.
It's the best instrument in the game - I guarantee it.

*spits* The ocarina is were it's at. Go play with your toy while the big boys do ocarina stuff.

All I've managed to find is this flute. I kinda felt silly standing there in a meteor storm playing it. Fortunatly I have 15 storage crates on my ship so It's in there somewhere. Hey new minigame, find the flute!

Oh god I see musical instrument wars, where's my Ozark harp?

Yes Ocrina of time was the best zelda, but the instrument itself is too danged hippy for me. :p

Do.. Do not tarnish the name of the Koto. You may have your tiny, insignificant flute-like instrument, but I have my koto. With the power embedded in my koto and I, Kitten Pryde, AKA Child Error, wipe you of your sin of using the name "Koto" in vain.

    You are forgiven.

Though the Ocarina may be cool, it will never touch the Koto, which is at the top of the instrument scale.

Do not worry friend, the koto has won this 'war.' Anyway, take your flute, son, and take it to the stars. Play the flute until you... run out of breath. Never stop believing in your instrument, until you find a koto, then ditch it and keep the koto.

Ha I scoff at thee. I need no forgiveness from the patron of the koto as it is a toy.

I curse you and your insignificant koto.

    Face the music.

I guess we hijacked the thread. At least your living proof that the koto is just nobody in the world of music.
