Anyone else excited for Aquatic Race?

Because I know I am .
They look so unique and cool, and their home is the water. Their home is what covers 70% of our planet, and more or less other planets as well, most likely! Hopefully they act really awesome too. Im not sure I want them to be both genders at once, thats kinda weird (at least, to me it is ). I know they wont be able to breath underwater or swim faster, but if im this race ill build my base underwater .
I might pick a post release race later on, if its a steampunk living organism, but for now im sticking with the Aquatics.

What are your thoughts on them? Will you roll one?

 

I think they're pretty interesting, but I also think they're the race I'm least likely to pick.
Then again, I still need more information before I decide on that!

 

I'm excited the most about them. I almost sure will play as one (need some lore though).

My guessing about their biology:
It's amphibious species, like Terran frogs/newts, but more adapted to live on land, so adult beings do not need to be wet all the time. Although they need a bodies of water to reproduce/spawn and probably to grow their babies/larvae until they can live on land.

I'm proud to declare that I haven't a foggiest idea.

then wouldnt that make them have an advantage against the other races?

which is what tiy didnt want if i remember correctly
so either A: the other races will get unique traits/abilitys
or B: they cant breathe underwater despite being an underwater race
or C: they hava an advantage over the other races

 

I did not told they can breathe underwater, not the adult ones. In my guessing, only the young ones have gills (or something), and they loses it when grows up. (also, all of this is just speculations )

 

Well, considering how human babies, before being born, breathe... "not air"... perhaps the mudkips have that similar trait too. Only, instead of "not air", it's water. So that means babies and kids would require water to survive, so they build their civilization by the water, until they grow up. By that time, they wouldn't need water to breathe anymore.

Since there doesn't seem to be playable children characters [or at least, not yet], I suppose it would make more sense.

personally i think they will turn out to be a pretty cool race, for my 2nd character I'll either be picking the aquatics-or possibly an avian: not entirely sure but i am interested in them

the florans are my first choice, however im hoping the aquatics get a nice back story and some neat blocks for their homes: if i happen to like them a lot i may just use one to build a base for my floran early on if i prefer their blocks over the floran's (that's if you can use multiple characters on the same world like terraria with changes made from one toon and it'll be the same for another)

 

I've barely seen anything of them, I'd like to see more heads and options to know if I'm going to make one.

 

I'm more interested in robots,actually.Wonder what kind of buildings they use.

 

I like them, but I'd rather be a landlubber

 

We still haven't got any indication if they're amphibian or aquatic. :\

 

Well, I love water and boats and underground stuff (underground underwater aww yeah), so I will of course play aquatic race, I don't really care how they look, but as is they look interesting.

 

I think I'm going to wait to see what their building style is like, and the robots as well, before I decide.

 

They look very nice but they just aren't my thing, but communist apes on the other hand are just perfect.

 

A far as we know they might not even be an underwater race, it just looks like it. I'm gonna say 90% chance it is, but you never know.
Whatever they are, they look great and I hope we learn mor about them soon.

 

Well their names are unpronounceable (ever see mermaid) and they despise "landwalkers"...

 

I think their like dolphins; they communicate with each-other with hyper-sonic waves, or their blind and use sonar to move around.

 

Blind? Then how does the player see? :/

 

Maybe, maybe.

And maybe they'll reproduce like frogs? They start out as tadpoles that live in the water but grow legs and arms and come out on land and grow lungs instead of gills.
