Anyone care to give the TVTropes article some love?

Some information here is incorrect and most is outright missing, and the article clearly states "watch this space".

I meant the wiki would have the right information, right? It'd be easier than searching around.. unless the wiki itself is outdated also.

 

I'm guessing you never were on TVTropes? Most of the information is casually written yet understandable. You don't need to be very formal when typing things here.

 

I don't even know what this website is. It looks like a waste of time, IMO.

I never cared for TVTropes content...some people seem to care about it, but I feel I'm missing something.

 

Alas i may be a fan of TV-Trope but im not reall that good of a writer. Sorry :/

 

It's a collection of ideas used in storytelling - originally just TV, I guess, but pretty much every medium as it's expanded. It's super interesting, funny, and very lighthearted - you should check it out properly! One of my fave places to go on the internet.

That said I've never tried to edit an article there. It's all written so confidently - I'd feel like an imposter trying to change something.

(Oh, and your waste of time thing is kind of pertinent too - because of TVTropes' habit of sticking addictive, super-clickable links into every sentence, it's easy to spend much more time there than you intended. One link leads to another! Hence reactions like FancyPants' whenever somebody posts a link to the website - it's sort-of-but-not-really complaining that they'll be sucked into the whirlpool of sass and pop culture and lose a few hours.)

 

I guess that makes sense. I was a bit lost with what was going on in there. I thought clicking one thing would lead to more Starbound.. I did explore a little more, so it made a little more sense.

 

It's better we wait till the game is in our hands to start adding tropes.
