Any update on Clothes/Armor dyeing?

It's a feature I would very much like to have. At the very least, I would like to be able to craft and dye all the various (non-vanity) clothing items.

Additionally, I would like the ability to craft blueprints that can be traded to other players to allow them to craft the clothes of your race.
Why? Because I would very much like to dress up my human in the Japanese inspired clothing of the Hylotl.

As for using the armour of a different race, I'm sure you guys have something special planned for that which would tie into the revamped progression system.

More features for the yarn spinner would also be welcome. Perhaps have it upgradeable to a sewing machine? It would be nice if we could craft an alternate (Same stats, different look) to the Snow Infantry Set. Like the Ushanka instead of the Snow Infantry Helmet.

I recall a mod that does exactly this, so it's not in the realm of impossibility, and there are some armor types in game that take on different colors, so it definitely can be done.

 

Yeah, I'm just curious as to whether it will be implemented as an official feature (Or if said mod can be incorporated as such) and when such a thing would be likely to happen.

Not asking for a strict time frame or anything (Unless they can safely state one), just want to know if it's being worked on and also remind the developers that it is a requested feature.

 

Yeah the snow infantry armor needs another tier to cope with the colder, higher-level planets. I've always wanted Apex clothes on my Glitch.

 

In the meantime re: racial clothes, just hop on a server and try to buy/trade/get a Hylotl to give you some hand-me-downs. You could even just make a new character, make the clothes, drop them in a chest and visit that planet with your human for pickup.

 

I just use the all clothing crafting station in the vanity station mod to get any items I want. It saves the hassle of finding people or "trading" between saves.

 

It's going to be a feature eventually. If you dig around the files, you will find that they have a system in place already, and its used on the guard spawner npcs.
