Any substantial updates yet?

If you're referring to GeorgeV's twitter post, he also called his blog post an "update," so I doubt it.

 

True. But I think we should expect an update soon, anyway.

 

If George made a twitter post saying "update today" and meant blog updated, there is going to be HELL to pay. I dont mean that as a threat, just as a very simple observation.

 

Looking at his past posts, he's called several blog posts updates. I understand the phrasing, but seeing as how it confused some people I wouldn't be surprised if a few folks were a little upset. Like I said, I really can't blame anyone for being impatient, but I also see the other side as well

 

It never really sounded like he was talking about game updates to me; New update today (updating people on something today), Starbound progresses (Art was made for all of the A.I.)

 

GeorgeV hasn't yet usurped the Iron Chucklethrone from Kyren (she's still the programmer lead) so I'm guessing that he wouldn't go around making declarations about content updates being available on Steam, etc. Granted, most people hear "update" and assume that means content patch available on steam (since that's usually what comes to mind), so that isn't helping much.

Oh well, he'll get this misunderstanding straightened out, commission another statue of himself as congratulations, and then go about making the Treasure Biome available in more than 0.01% of worlds. If you thought 99% / 1% was disparity, think again!

It's not really George's fault; he just said something on twitter, and people assumed something. And you know what they say about assume...

 

I think he'd pay in pounds, not in "Hell".

That should have been in a spoiler. Not everyone is able to watch Game of Bounds on Sunday night (especially when it isn't even broadcast).

 

Yeah, there was quite a bit involved. Anyone who hasn't gone through the visa process before would be surprised by how much crap you've gotta deal with to move to another country. Then there's the whole actually packing your life up and moving, finding a place to live, adjusting to the culture, etc. It's a big deal, yo.
In fact, I'm still living out of a couple suitcases at Tiy's place until I can (hopefully) move into my new place this weekend, haha.

He was talking about the post, I'm afraid. :O

I mean come on. You are a game developer. You should know what people expect when you say update.

I would say a developer saying there is going to be an update tonight a promise.

If a developer says update it doesn't mean a blog post.

 

Yes it does. He labeled the blog post as "update." That should have clued you in.
