Any Possibility of Supporting Mac OS 10.7.5?

I see support stops at 10.8 and this game does crash in 10.7.5. Any possibility of supporting 10.7.5, if not, why? What is required in this game that does not allow it to run under 10.7.5?

    Thx.

Hahaha thats a laugh. They'll work tirelessly to support an operating system that's about to be decomissioned, yet won't support anything Mac bar the brand spanking new. nice.

It's even more funny to think that there are more XP users than all of the OSX users combined - And anyone with an Apple machine can install Bootcamp and run the game faster than OSX will ever hope to amount to.

... Why are you still on OSX 10.7x?? 10.9 is out and runs just fine in machines built for 10,7! Just take the few hours out of your busy schedule and download the free upgrade. Then you can play it.

Because a lot of the software I use on a daily basis is not compatible with Mavericks, and because updating OSX is only through the App Store I can no longer get ML. That's why.

May I also point out that you can make as many Mac vs PC arguments and Bootcamp references as you like, the fact is the dev's are claiming to support the platform, and are yet to address the issue of it not actually launching at all. Not everyone can afford a copy of WIndows (Which tends to cost upwards of £80-£150)

I play the game on both a Win7 machine running two video cards, dual monitors, and the works in terms of equipment and a rinky-dink MacBook Air running OSX Mavericks and they both run the game the same. No bootcamp.

This game isn't asking much from any machine.

I was referring to OSX in general - Ancient drivers, poor support for games in general. It really isn't an operating system catering to anyone who wants to play games.

They work to support XP because at the end of the day, it's still a Windows machine. It also has a huge amount of people still using XP to try and run this game.

Mac in general isn't made for gaming, so you should really be thankful for what you have. Upgrades and workarounds also exist, and if you're not willing to budge, especially if it's free...why should the devs. Honestly, I think they should drop both XP and Mac and focus on the game itself. But that's because I don't use either of those and it doesn't effect me personally. However even though I wish they'd drop them, I'm glad to see they want to appeal to a large amount of audiences. I honestly think both XP and Mac users are being too harsh towards the Devs. Be glad they're giving you anything at all.

You are right no it isn't. But is there a reason you haven't upgraded to Mavericks? Isn't it free? It may provide a fix for you.

    Time Professor Yeah, You!

He uses software that isnt available on mavericks yet. But i dont see what the issue is. You know the game runs better on mavericks but wont upgrade because of other reasons... Do you expect to get everything you want in life?

Yikes. I wasn't trying to get argumentative with him. I was just offering a possible solution being that I also play the game on the Mac and I find that it works great.

However, to answer your second question - yes. But I fail to see how that is relevant to Macintosh.

I'd recommend just running Bootcamp and play the game in Windows until better support can be given for other OS's.

That's what I'm doing, but it takes me away from my day-to-day activities, it interrupts my conversations on Skype (And between OSes Skype tries to re-download my history, misses messages, I end up with inconsistent logs), I can't keep my IRC logs in one place, I can't work on something without restarting,I can't keep an eye on emails, it's just a massive faff.

I would just like to know if there is any hope for them figuring this out, or if they're just going to shrug and say update your OS and deal with it (While, again, they're supporting an OS that's about to be decommissioned, officially). I probably wouldn't have pre-ordered if I'd known that my version of OSX wouldn't be supported. C'est la vie.

As it stands though they're probably gonna be more concerned with getting the game polished and then working on other things like that. It's just not very high up on the priorities list at the moment.

Since they are actually selling the game cross-platform, I would hope it's actually quite high on their priorities. I know this is beta, but this isn't the first time I've bought a game, and found I can't play it. Sometimes I never get to play it at all, unless I bootcamp, despite their promises of cross-platform computability. I will stick with Bootcamp for now, it's become my sort of 'away time' from work, but it's still disappointing.

Anyway, I've made my points, I don't think I have anything else to add, unless people want to keep arguing haha.

Wow, ok. I just asked what the reason was for not supporting 10.7.5, that's it. 10.7 is about 3 yrs old, it's not like it's ancient like XP or even old like Vista for that matter. Also, I am unable to update to 10.9, so that's not an option.

Anyway, I run the game in Bootcamp with Windows, I was just curious as to the reason for 10.8 being the cutoff and not 10.7. Guess I should have emailed the developers directly than posting here.

Post here if you get a response from them about it.

I'm sorry but, get a new computer. Macs are horrible, end of story :I (as a developer myself, i highly suggest you get a new comp xD)

Why even spout this unintelligent crap here? As if your "claim" of being a developer has any higher suggestion value.

Why even revive a thread that was back on monday//wednesday?
Why question my spouting of what you call "crap".
    Why even bother to reply?

    Welcome to the internet.
