Any Idea About These Rocks?

Any Idea About These Rocks? I can't personally afford to get these rocks, only they'll end up as a common cobblestone material, I'd like to officially get them as is. For modding reasons, their normal colors and their strength can be handy if I'll make construction blocks out of the rest of the rocks.

This is pretty much a Stone, and will logically drop a cobblestone material.

I see those and I think of the mobs that spit boulders at you.

 

Well, some of those rocks, especially I speculated one as Basalt are seen at the Core layer of a planet.

 

Is the one at the bottom Sandstone? OR some other sedimentary rock?

 

At an engine level all of them drop cobblestone. They all belong to the same basic "stone" material type, with the different layers being analogous to the "colour" channel; by using your paint-gun you might be able to convert most of those rocks into other rocks by spraying them.

At a scientific level, the only one you can identify with any certainty (Since we can't look closely at the crystals in the rock) is sandstone

 

looks like cobblestone... All of them do. As those have been in there even in the prior patch.

Cobblestone appears differently the deeper you go, and also harder to dig sometimes. As well different planets have different looks.

Now if they are an animation, they wouldn't have that square block thing in the file. It would be solid. That square border in the upper left corner signifies it is a block you can place, just various styles that it can appear as. (this includes when painted, with some files.)

 

I think not, as sandstone had their own named rock block somewhere in the game

Now, what I have in mind is, I'd like to make something out of them for my building mod. Like the rock12, which I believe, is a marble, I'll make a clean-looking wall with the same strength.

 

I speculate that the 3rd or 4th Rock are Conglomerate Rocks.

 

They're just rock textures. I drew them and most aren't really based on a specific rock. I just kept drawing until it looked right to me. They're just variations.

 

I plan making bricks out of those rocks due to their colors. One of them seemed to be based from marble, color-wise.

 

Nope. Just a random texture I liked. A few of them were probably based on some kind of rocks but I didn't write it down or anything. Most aren't based on a specific rock type. Then most of the rest I don't remember what kind it was. Probably inspired by random rock images on Google Images.

You can call them whatever you want. I made like 20 generic rock textures and I called them rock01-rock20. A few we put in as actual named rock types in the game (Obsidian, etc) but I don't remember exactly which ones off the top of my head.

 

Anyways, this game is openly-moddable then, might as well start speculating names on this one, and let them drop themselves as blocks, no longer just a generic cobblestone. Other users of my BuildEx mod suggested me to make walls, blocks, and even statues out of the rest of the rocks, even Hellstone too!
