I've seen a large number of threads about this, discussing resurrection in starbound, and the general consensus is that we should have complicated resurrection, having to go retrieve your corpse, loss of equipment, having to rely on the kindness of other players for to be resurrected, et cetera. I, myself, think this would be one of the most irritating game mechanisms I've even seen. I like the idea of having options, for the players that are masochistic and want the highest difficulty possible, but (Correct me if I'm wrong) people seem to be ignoring the fact that not all players want this. My suggestion is that we keep the high difficulty options open, but allow people to have servers or games which the minimum possible death penalty is payment of pixels for a teleport of the player and their equipment back to base, or starship. Perhaps not even that. Perhaps have a combination, where you can have your corpse resurrected by your friends, as reviving back at base would cost time to get back. I'm just saying that we shouldn't restrict the avaliable options for players. Anyway, what do you people think of this?
I think that if people start making new threads about old threads instead of sharing their suggestion in said threads we'll soon drown in the sea of redundancy. Also, I've checked those threads and there was no general consensus on complicated ressurection, merely discussion for it to be a possibility. I'd very much, as I've already stated, would like it to be optional and maybe even server-set thing. Other than that, different posible ways to return to the game as per server settings would be good. Just a multitude of ways to respawn would be quite hard to balance properly.
Guess I missed that one, thanks for pointing it out to me. Thanks for the correction on the consensus on complicated resurrection.
