...about the lack of In game music appreciation! HA I FOOLED YOU DON'T EVEN LIE.

So yeah, as stated, the music in StarBound is surprisingly really good. It fits the atmosphere(s) quite well, and adds a lot to situations.

So, music discussion, make with it. Too light for you? Too dark? Needs more wubwub? Needs less wubwub? Favorite tracks? it better be tentacle biome music or i'll gut you

I absolutely love all of the music for this game. Its perfect for everything so far. I need to listen to it more often.

    Not enough phantom train.

Overall the music was putting me to sleep, so I turned it off and have been listening to the Terraria soundtrack.... ha! kidding

I've been listening to Hacktivist, Skyharbor, and Twelve Foot Ninja on Spotify.

If the designers skim past this: it would be great to not have the battle music flare up whenever an animal sees me. There are cases where they'll never, ever touch me (like, if they see me through a window), and the battle music just triggers over and over every 3 seconds. The music should trigger when a blow is landed.

Otherwise, lovin the intro track. Very ambient and nice, has an SNES RPG feel.

This I can agree too. It kind of annoys me when I'm butterfly boosting over a planet surface out of range of everything, jamming out to tentacle biome music, and a monster tries and fails to jump at me, and my music is interrupted with the battle music (which isn't bad but is probably my least favorite).

I prefer it this way. Let's you know when something is out to rip your face of before it actually does so.

Well played, Roberts, well played. My only complaint with the music is that it stops in the deep underground. It'd be cool if the depths had their own soundtrack instead of silence. Aside from that, I love the music in this game.

I like the music, definitely fitting for the game, but I feel like it could do better. I'm not really sure how, it just wasn't what I was expecting.

I wish I could turn the battle music option off. I don't like it shifting the music around so much.

    Why thank you good sir.

I actually prefer the silence. I know that's entirely opinion based, but I like how it gives it an eerie feel. Like, you're so far underground and removed that not even the background music can reach you. It gives it a really "you're alone down here and no one can hear you scream" feel.

I love the one that is probably considered the theme. I hum it all the time.

I think the battle music should only be for bosses/mini-bosses. Not that I'm listening to it anyway....

Tentacle biome is best biome. Music, looks, the very idea is just da best.

I like it a lot too.

It just feels a bit off place when you're one-shotting enemies, because it plays for 1 second, stops, plays for 1 second, stops... it's kinda weird.

You should plant a massive grape farm on one. Still no Journey to Silius music though.

I'm currently building an actual base on a tentacle planet in the Betelgeuse (actual ingame name) galaxy, so I'll make sure to do that when I'm finished.

I like it but not for playing starbound. Better for cooking or lounging around the house reading. I listen to lazerhawk, baseferatu, and allllooootttt of disasterpeace when I play. (they are all on bandcamp if you're curious) I like a more action paced sound.

I almost consider it cheating, but yeah I can see the advantage for sure. Animals would have more of an edge in the dark if the music didn't clue me in on them being in there.
