Bug/Issue Annoying Invincible Ghost?!

    Was mining deep underground and one of those one-eyed cat ghost monsters started coming after me.
    I hit it once and it flew off of the screen, then started coming back for me. I couldn't damage it at all (even after it's invincibility animation ended), but it could damage me, so I had this ghost following me everywhere while I was trying to get back to the surface

    Was you on a Moon? If so they're Echrius Ghosts.

    These Ghosts will only come after you once you start mining the Echrius for Ship fuel. And they also can't be killed.

    No I wasn't on a moon.
    I looked it up, it was called a "Spookit"
    I hit it once and did damage to it, but when it opened its eye again, I still couldn't damage it.

    Ooooohh these guys

    Apparently when their eyes open you can damage them again. Have you tried using different weapons?

    Yeah, but when the eye opened, I still couldn't damage it. I used my staff, gun, and sword and projectiles just went straight through it and it didn't take damage
