Annoyed Koala - Armors

    Hey,

    So there are a few issues with Annoyed Koala, especially with weapons, but that's not what I'm interested in. I haven't been around to test so far, which is why I come asking !

    Armors in the previous were almost useless, since even with the best you could afford critters would still OS you.
    So far the best way to deal with dangerous planets was to build a little cage for those pester and hack them to death through the blocks.
    Now as I understand, you can't hit a mob through blocks anymore, weapons will be fixed, but what about armors? Are we still getting one-shot by mobs starting from ( previously ) level 20 even with the best armors?

    With no way to cage a mob, and no way to survive a single hit, as well as taking damage from falls more quickly than before, is the gamma sector doable in any way except by mining around every single mob and leaving them there rotting? Heck, even in Beta Sector.
    To be honest I thought the armors were to be fixed as well as the weapons ( that one did happen, even if it still requires a fix ). If we can't survive in later beta sector and further on, I don't think we can properly test the game :p

    Ive maintained getting 3shot by mobs. Except flayers, they still hit me for 70-99.9%
    not sure if im over armoured or under for my area though - but I have maintained a 30-70% health loss when hit throughout 6hours.
    nothing like being hit for 103 health when you have 105 and 6000 pixels.

    A little bump.

    I read here and there that people are still getting OS even with titanium armor.

    Maybe they should have fixed armors before weapons - low damage weapons are manageable as long as monsters don't OS us, I say :p
    Hopefully this is coming for the next patch. Hopefully.

    I know this is beta, there will be hiccups and mistakes along the way, so I'm just suggesting to take care of the armors before adding fluff content like the taming or such. But I guess different people are working on different part of the game, which is fine ! :)

    Looking at it closely, I couldn't see any difference between getting hit with/without armour. It appears that it simply acts as extra health.
    I could be wrong though.

    More health? Ok, that can work. Other games went that way too.
    Let's just hope you don't just gain like 10hp max when monsters starts hitting for more than 100. I mean, 2-shot is better than 1-shot, but not by that huge a marging :p

    I'm now in the delta sector and got the makeshift armor, which is a bit better than the titanium armor. It gives more health and provides better armor than the titanium one and I still get OS from RANGED attacks. Melee attacks can hit me like 4 or 5 times until I die.

    But overall I have the feeling that armor and damage don't scale very well yet with the later sectors. In Tier 1, I felt it was quite balanced but not in Tier 4 anymore
