yes, so a diamond fusion would include steven in it xD

Anyway.. it's just a theory. In my thoughts.. I'm still doubtful about it.
    But we'll see..

for me the part that sold it was all the old tech having four diamonds in it
    [IMG]
    versus new tech having 3
    [IMG]

like pink quartz is the best/most likely explanation for this i'm 100% on board :1

That is..a good sign.. I suppose..
    Also..

Pearls aren't just for Diamonds, though. Peridot tells Steven that there are hundreds of Pearls on Homeworld "being flaunted around." Pearls are custom made servants for the upper echelons of Gem society, no doubt, but nothing we have atm suggests they are only for Diamonds.

Really, I have serious doubts about Rose being a Diamond. Gems seem to have a pretty good ability recognizing types. Despite her unusual size, Peridot knew right off the bat that Amethyst was a Quartz. Everyone seems to know that Rose was a Quartz. I would have a hard time believing that the Diamonds are fusions of differing types simply because of the sheer disgust the Homeworld gems seem to have towards inter-mineral fusions. Yes, the Diamonds are bigger, but size seems to be related to station more than anything. Quartzs are supposed to be big naturally, and (I assume) Peridots small. It only makes sense that Diamonds, at the highest eschelon of Gem society would be naturally bigger as well.

As for shared color, might as well claim Sapphire must be Blue Diamond because she's blue. Or maybe Lapis, she's blue too. It's fairly apparent that gems can have the same color without being a part of another gem type.

COULD there be some sort of weird twist on how Rose is Pink Diamond, yet no one recognize her, nor pass on that gem type to Steven? Sure, it's their story, they can write it however they want. But is it probable given the information we have on Gems and their society? Not that I can see.

peridot's specialty is in technology though; she didn't even recognise that steven was part human, or even that he was biological. there's no reason to think that she'd recognize him as part diamond or quartz. and i didn't mean to suggest that the other gems wouldn't know that pink quartz was actually a diamond, just that she would want them to consider her to be more of a quartz than a diamond; symbolic in nature. peridot also recognized amethyst right away because amethysts are supposedly rly commonly used as warriors, and peridot had already been in the kindergarten where amethyst was made. there's been no other mention of quartzes in the show, and peridot hasn't seen or interacted with anything that rose was depicted in.

as for the size, rose wasn't just bigger, she was enormous
    [IMG]
compared to pearl. the size difference is very comperable to the other diamond/pearl duos (as opposed to pearl next to jasper for instance)
especially if you consider that part of rose's influence is to give them more individuality than they originally had, and they have control over how they manifest.
i know there are a lot of pearls, but the pearl assistants to the diamonds seem to be very, very dedicated to their diamonds; they could even be grown to specifically and exclusively serve their diamonds, which could explain our pearl's extreme obsession with rose.
not to mention, rose almost singlehandedly fought off an entire invasion of gems with implied little help. if it was just a few extra gems with her and she was nothing special, it should have been no problem for the homeworld gems to crush her rebellion. there is a clear power disparity if she's just a quartz. even our beloved gems had trouble fighting off a single homeworld fighter gem (jasper), who had no backup and basically no technology. it seems more reasonable if they had an overpowered gem on their side - a diamond.

there is also some stuff about where their gems are, from the diamond images in the temple on the moon. in the old quad-colour gem logos, the position of the gems correlate with the diamonds in the temple. white diamond's gem is on her forehead, blue/yellow diamonds' gems are on their chest, and it would make sense if pink diamond's gem was lower than that, since it's on the bottom. pink quartz's gem is on her belly. notice also that the position of the three non-pink gems are the same in the new-tech logos.

any of the pieces on their own are not very convincing (except the missing part of the logo), but i think together there are waaaaaay too many coincidences.

also i like all your smilies in your signature hehehe

That's a nice insight. I'll keep that in mind. Doubt is still in my side.

Without looking at the previous pages, I'm going to take a wild stab and say that you're currently discussing Steven Universe -- one of many shows which I still need to watch.

Currently, I am in the process of watching One Punch Man, GaoGaiGar, and Fist of the North Star.

Man, that's one of those many shows I still need to watch. I've seen the plot in action in Super Robot Wars Alpha 3 and W, but I gotta watch the real thing.
    Also, that OP.

Meanwhile, instead of watching anything on my backlog, I've been rewatching The World God Only Knows Season 1 and 2. It's been pretty nice to re-experience them, especially since I haven't seen S2 since it aired in 2011!
Now I'm actually reading the manga, since there's a gap between S2 and S3 I want to fill. Then I wanna compare the manga and S3. And then finish the manga since S4 never. It's gonna be fun. ...Reading about 220 chapters.

Ever though these have both been mentioned several times in this thread, I have to anyway. But I won't go into any more detail than...

Right, so I'm going to have to be that guy. Y'know the one. The one who brings up the cutesy/slice-of-life stuff.
(Though again, I don't intend on going in to much detail.)
First we have the ambassador of cute, Miss
    [IMG]

from Love, Chunibyo, & Other Delusions!
A great story of young love, growth, and "eight grader syndrome". Also surprisingly well written. Will make you shed manly/womanly tears. (STRONGLY RECOMMENDED)

    Second we have
    [IMG]

    of Denki-Gai!
An all around silly anime with a few choice "serious" moments. Follows a group of manga store workers. Don't even attempt if you don't have a strong sense of humor. It's very lighthearted.

    And lastly we have
    [IMG]

of The Pet Girl of Sakura Hall!
An oddly touching, bittersweet anime full of silly overtones but seeping with undertones of despair. Follows an eclectic group of students in a dorm.

I see you're the type who prefers to use the proper Japanese titles.

Fair ratings. (Though my inner Chu2 fan is hurting inside.) Might I ask what you didn't like about Denki-Gai? I didn't think it was amazing, but I thought it was very memorable at the very least.

    Oh and I'd give
    Chu2 a 10/10
    Denki-Gai a 6.5/10
    Sakura Hall a 9/10

I agree with the other two ratings.

I'm picky when watching a plotless anime. Some things about the show is nice though.
Even if it's a slice of life genre, It feels like the show is more focused in gag.

Ah. That explains why you didn't like Lucky Star. (As you mentioned a few pages back.)

    Just thought of two more.
    First up, we have

    from Engaged to the Unidentified.
    A rom-com with a... really absurd story.

    And
    [IMG]

from When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace.
A slice-of-life with super powers. Brought to us by the same animation team, Trigger, behind Kill la Kill.

What made you mad the second time? The only things that really bothered me is how defiant Dekomori is, and how the show teases you with fake kisses like four times.

i don't remember exactly what it was, but something about justifying mental illness, ignoring consequences for behaviour, and yes teased kisses. i made an angry rant about it somewhere. i was not impressed with the way they handled familial abuse either.

  20. This kind of abuse was A-OK tho. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ

In all seriousness, the kiss teasing also bugged me. Though, not as much as it did in S2. NO ROMANTIC PROGRESS WHATSOEVER.
