Animals not producing goods / crops not growing?

not certain if this is the right spot but for some reason im not entirely sure of my animals stop producing goods and my crops stop growing and the only thing i can do is kill the animals and replant the crops wich is very annoying,

 

Are you sure you are watering your plants properly?

 

I have heard that sometimes animals/crops created prior to the current patch may stop producing after an update, but usually killing/digging up and re-spawning/re-planting them fixes the problem. If your new animals and plants aren't producing, I'm not sure why that might be. Does this happen on every world and on your ship too, or just one place? If I were you I'd go to a whole new world that you haven't been to before, plant some stuff and see if the problem happens there too.
