When I looked at the new farms, I rushed the update. Absolutely LOVE them. That love wavered a little when I saw how much extra water was taking up already limited real estate. So I broke out the editor. After sharing my edits, I discovered a lot of others also desired such edits. Feedback and requests showed different desires, so I decided to start evolving this little project into something more. I've moved all my farms to their own threads now, as can be found below. Why? For one, it makes it easier to tell which map is part of which mod. They're also now all hosted individually, which will make for much faster response time whenever I need to fix, update, or otherwise change them. And that means you can download just the specific ones you want again! Do you have a custom map that you'd like that isn't among any of my many edits? Drop a reply to this thread telling me what you'd like! Please be sure to include as much detail as possible, include pictures when possible, and try to understand - there are some things I simply can't / don't know how to do with the editor I'm using, things that are hard-coded / map specific, and, well, bugs/mistakes will happen. -*-*-*- Drier Farms Mod: Has now moved over here: Drier Farms Mod Thread -*-*-*- Dehydrated Farms Mod: Has now moved over here: Dehydrated Farms Mod Thread -*-*-*- Renovated Farms Mod: Has now moved over here: Renovated Farms Mod Thread -*-*-*- Extended Farms Mod: Is now available! A lifesaver, that little area in the corner is where I want to put animals, with just one row of fence blocking in the cliffsides. But there's just no space with that pond!
Small area you cannot walkthrough on the north end of the lake that was removed on the wilderness farm. Love this mod thank you for this!
Thank you for the screenshots; I'll fix those ASAP. Those little white borders are hard to see in the editor.
it looks a little odd - those empty spots with no resources when the map is generated - but for people who want more space it should be a god send
Hmm, good point. I'll see if I can coerce it into generating something there, maybe some tall grass patches - the water left nice fertile soil for the patches to grow Concept: [/SPOILER]
Looks great! Now all we need is to edit the map and get rid of the water that you removed from the farms and you wont even notice that it was removed in the first place.
Thanks so much for this! I was going to do this (though removing less water) to the forest farm and now I don't have to screw around with maps.
Hi, is it possible to have a version where the corner pond of the Wilderness map is removed instead or as well? The one pond there taking up a lot of space seemed awkward to me from the start. If not, that's fine! Thanks for working so hard on these, it's great.
Yes, sadly, I'm not quite sure where that file is to alter it, but I'll give a look to see about that once I have more time tomorrow. No problem! I'll make a second version as a second option of the farm maps that are completely dry with some alternative water source, and add a small water source somewhere else
Version 1.1 of Drier Farms posted; Working on the completely waterless farms currently, will post when in a little while hopefully
Wilderness Farm map request: Remove the bottom left-hand corner pond and keep the central pond. Its easier to fish and get water than having to go deep into the forest or the other side of the map to get it.
THANK YOU. I was so annoyed to see that pond there for Wilderness since there is a huge lake right next to it!
Here you go! As a warning, I didn't test it (I'm in class atm). So if you run into any issues, let me know - screenshots help make for faster fixes as possible
Dried up farms initial release now posted; currently not including the Hill-Top farm until I can figure out something to do with the river. By intent, I am NOT doing a DriedUp version of Riverland Farm, unless someone explicitly requests it.
