Closed [Angry Koala] Chest Contents Dupe Bug

There seems to be a duplication bug with the Blue High-Tech chest.

How to reproduce: Find and loot a High-Tech chest and place it back into the world, when opened it should contain items again.

Old Chests do not seem to have this problem.
Glitch Chests and Bookcases do seem to have this problem too - Thanks to Kirona


It seems it depends on the chest you get when you destroy it, i have 2 types of chests right now: 1 type acts normal the other type contains loot as soon as it is placed.

This seems to be happening with every container, much as there is also a seed that instantly grows vegetables when placed.

 

I'm getting this bug too - except mine's a Glitch Chest that's doing it.

 

yeah i did a post about this hours ago, mines with a glitch chest as well.

 

It looks like this bug is for EVERY storage item. It's duping inventories for a pair of bookcases I have, too. This is gonna make looting interesting for a bit

 

I've had this happen with a regular chest, the kind you find on every planet.

 

It seems it depends on the chest..... i have 2 types of Old Chests right now, one does not dupe and the other ones do.

 

yeah same with me GeneralM13, i looked at my inventory like, "what the? i have some chests doing it and some that are not

 

i wouldn't even call it a dupe. With an avian chest I just got, every time I place it, I get something new. I have 6 instruments now!

 

Yeah it isnt a true dupe but still to me there's still a dupe feel to it lol. i almost have them all now thanks to this bug

 

This was patched about three hours ago. Update Starbound and place any remaining glitched chests you have. When harvested, they will no longer exhibit the bug.

 

sadly i just go on after the patch and nothing was fixed i even exited my game by playing my guitar

nevermind the bugged chests where their own item so i placed all of them down and they went back to normal.

 

Then your game isn't up to date. Check the launcher; it should have a giant "Diagnose" button if you're on the hotfix patch.

 

It is uptodate i have double checked, in my post above i figured out what the problem is
