When fighting off some bandits for a quest I used a molotov and got a little too close the settlement. Not knowing that explosions were excluded from the not being able to hurt them affect, I practically used 17 molotov's. At first I thought the guards were shooting at the bandits but then, after the bandits had respawned, kept shooting. My question is can you make up to an angry civilization or can you make it clear somewhere that explosives do damage to citizens? Thank you for your time :3

I don't really think you can make up to civilizations that you offend somehow, but if you just walk away for a while they'll all forget about you.

That happened once when I accidentally beaned an Apex rebel in the head with a bug net. It did no damage and got everyone all riled up.

Thx! I'll wait for them to calm down then!

I swear civilizations have a hair-trigger temper. Again, even if you throw a small snowball at a villager or guard, the entire place goes up in arms.

Be lucky you were forced to kill the quest giver... >< Happened to me, but I used whirling blade secondary attack from spear by accident. Of course didn't help that there was an army of scientists that invoked me to do that.

Generally only the guards that see you do something will react. Once they die, in my case was only choice, it is just a waiting game for the civilians to calm down. Civilians seem to calm down quicker than guards.

The entire village won't be angry. But will be in state of caution. So from then on one has to ensure caution to not trigger again. Like I mention it is only the ones that saw the act or near it that is in line of sight that will turn, or run away in the case of civilian. Most others won't realize unless you bring the offended one close to them.

It is what I have observed so far in my own mistakes... I guess stay away from area of effect type things, or rather things that could hit mulitple; beyond guns of course. Although I'd imagine don't use a rocket launcher either, but I am not willing to try that since I want to keep the villages I find intact. Anyway, hopefully that will help the survival of future occurrence. :nuruhappy:
