If you bought this game recently, you have no one to blame but yourself.

If you bought this game a year or more ago, well then, you can then only blame that on one person: Again, yourself.

Disappointment is not a right, it's an ability. In this case, the ability to complain incessantly about "losing" 15 dollars. No one can take that away from you (short of a full lobotomy).

Well....there are things that can and will be touched upon plenty by the community, item addition, recipe addition and all that is not much of an issue.....if you're big on agriculture there will be lots of mods over time ans a pretty massive one(Frackin' Flora) is being ported from the old modding system to the new one and will be compatible with future versions of Starbound. There will undoubtedly be more.

But things like Space stations, more quest trigger instances and so on are things that probably go beyond the abilities of modders and add a lot more to the game.....like allowing for greater quest variety. These things are far more important now before the 1.0.....the dev team can add all the other fluff later after all the key features have been implemented and work smoothly.

There's a lot of: they should work on what I want because I paid $15 and I'm disappointed and I'll complain a lot.....that's great but they have to worry about millions of players, most of whom couldn't care less about a whiskey bottle or similarly tiny things. Let us be able to dock our ship on a space station or own more than one ship at a time or something crazy like that that will turn a lot of heads for a shock and awe campaign that modders can't do.....they can add growable lettuce and some recipes just fine though.

    Truth.

    ALSO true.

    FALSE.

A customer has a BASIC, LEGAL right to express dis-satisfaction with a product they have purchased, even if the company is no longer offering refunds. This is a little something we call "reputation". Every single person who has a gripe with this game is like a critic who gives people
(sometimes) important information about a game they are thinking about purchasing but haven't yet. And sometimes a potential customer can AND SHOULD make their decisions based on these criticisms and judgments.

In fact, this is entirely WHY someone who buys a game and becomes disappointed has no-one to blame but themselves. Either they didn't do the research by listening to other people's complaints about it, or they did and took a chance anyway. You completely defeated yourself by emphasizing this point.

Also, on a moral level, it is NEVER right to tell someone they don't have the right to an opinion, or that an opinion is a privilege that is earned or only deserved by a select few. The INSTANT you even REMOTELY imply this, you are already incorrect.

This is why i've never cared too much for this thread.

If a person had a problem, there are whole forums and ways to offer suggestions that bring to light the issue. but no matter how loud or respectful you are, there will be others, including the devs, with different opinions on where the game goes or how to address your problem.

On the other hand putting said suggestions in an amorphous feelbad thread alongside conspiracies just doesn't sound like a good way to be looked at in particular for discussion. No matter how legal or morally right you may feel about your money.

I know it sounds like i'm advocating for threads repeating the same question over and over, but if nothing else it makes concrete what you would like to suggest/improve/review in the game or its developers.

That's a much better, valid gripe. Simply having a bull session about Starbound, while not completely against the rules or wrong in any sense, doesn't include any implication that the people who post here have some hope for the game. At least if you post in a suggestion/feedback area, you demonstrate a little faith that the object of your disappointment might be changed or at LEAST looked at.

Still, again. There's nothing really WRONG with having a bull session if that's what people want to do. And I hope in the future people can get back to actually doing that, instead of having these long conversations about whether it's dumb/wrong to do it in the first place.

Well said people should not let hype and emotion get in the way of actually finding the problem and giving valid suggestions on how to improve.

Im just sad that Starbound seems to be going in the direction of Terraria where you progress by getting better armour, etc. in an endless chain that gets repetitive. I want the Starbound that is randomly generated everything with dropships (that dropship screenshot tho) and adventury stuff that touches a chord in my heart. I remember when all the footage we had of Starbound was the flashlight demo which showed off the wonderful lighting, the water demo which showed off the wonderful water physics, etc. I don't like how many junk items are in the game right now (I know they will be cleaned up eventually). I hope the game does get more of the features that the devs aspire to and I am glad that Starbound has been the first game I've been through the entire beta cycle with (flashlight demo to eventual full release). Keep up the wonderful work devs and go make a great game! Blobjim signing out!

    Im frustrated. Very frustrated.
And dissapointed at the same time.

Im all hyped to play Starbound. But after they deactivated (hopefully really just for now) the two survival things i liked (hunger and temperature) i dont want to play.
I know they talked about it, it might get reworked. But as i far as i can see, looking back at the history of development the last year, it might take another year tilll they "rework" it and turn it on again.

Taking out hunger and temperatures was the biggest dissapointment Chucklefish delivered in my opinion.
Its sad to say this, but if they dont give hunger and temperature a worthy comeback (and its actually a good rework and not a dumbed down version) i wont come back either, even if i like the game itself.

They were more like tack-ons and never had a meaningful iteration, this is why they were temporarily removed, and they are definitely coming back in some form or another.

For you they didnt. For me it was immersive enough to justify its existence.
And i already said. Im aware of it, that they will bring it back somehow.

Its more or less the way they doing it.
They could have let it activated till they had a rework for it. Simply disabling it is stupid. (In my opinion)
If you develop cars and have a series where the airbags dont go off exactly the way you want them to open, you dont just simply press a button to disable them. It still can safe lifes, even if it dont open up with glamour and style.

Hunger and temperature still worked as intended/as intended at first.
There was no real need to simply disable it. A option for those who wanted it gone would have been the better solution.

    Yatta, yatta.
That topic was discussed over and over.

I just hope this hunger and temperature system isnt a new Half Life 3 for me.

You do indeed have the right to express your feelings and opinions. You do not have right to have those feelings, simply because no one can give you your feelings nor does anyone have the ability to take those feelings away. Sure, other people can affect those feelings but emotions just are (and are personal).

That was the point I was trying to make and, if you still think I'm wrong, I suggest going up to a member of your preferred gender and telling them that you have a right to love them and see how far that gets you.

I INDEED have a right to be in love with whomever it is I have fallen in love with. I do not have a right, however, to ENFORCE my feelings and opinions on other people. I think this is probably what you actually meant to say?

You can't tell people they don't have a right to feel a certain way, because feelings are not things we can control. They happen without any regard for our judgment on the matter. They are things that happen TO you as a result of something you've experienced. It is not a reaction you purposely fabricate in response to an experience. If it was, you would be right. But it's not, so you aren't.

Therefore, if you are okay with people expressing their feelings and opinions, you have to be okay with them HAVING said feelings and opinions.

    Does that make sense?

My disappointments is the combat like i mean it's fine and all but... i demand more but this is just my own opinion and what i like in games or would love to see in this one and that would be for this game to be more rpg like? to be able to do stuff with all the useless weapons i horde and never really do anything with other than throw away eventually.
i feel like maybe being able to improve your own weapons and add things to them would be really nice well for me anyways ;w; then also to have proficiency levels for weapons would also be awesome because well, i feel like some weapons are pointless to use... imo ( yet again ) maybe have special attacks for different weapons and a reason to use different ones.

now this is what i think would make the game longer but not really in a painful sort've headachey way and would make things more interesting and i'm not meaning skills that fill up your screen with icons and hotkeys little skills maybe just press 1 button and hold it then press attack or something, like make 3-5 skills. What else could be interesting is maybe having certain weapons like big 2h ones have slower attack but high damage but also slow your movement but eventually you can train with it and remove the negatives or lower them.. of course make other weapons good aswell or else everyone would just use the 2h. tbh i dunno what im on about anymore i got a headache and sore eyes my ctrl or shift or alt keys are messed up and keep changing the screen size/zoom and what i type sometimes gets deleted so uhh yeh anyways im hungry

edit: just like to say im not disappointed... i've played this game a crud ton and id easily say in my eyes i've played about $200s worth :) played it since release stopped for a lil then played again then stopped alil then played again and again and again and i enjoy it everytime

    SteveAkaThief Yeah, You!

The only thing in this Game that makes me sad is the fact that you can mess around with planets like a douché and if you finished your path of destruction, you can go and visit another Planet.
I know this is a large part of this Game but I feel a bit disappointed if I skip Planets like Internet Ad's..
And I also know that you don't have to do something like that but sometimes, maybe if the Planet is bad and have no good resources, that you have to do it and leave it blank like...whatever you leave blank

Another thing is the Battle. I don't know if it's planned to make something like a Level up system but where is the point to kill monsters if you won't got anything for it? I'm talking about exp. Points :/ It's such a disapointentment to kill everything you see and don't get anything but pixels and meat.. :(

My big dissapointment is to see like they havent updated stable branch in a lot of time, they should work in features and try finish it and publish to stable branch before start to work in other features. I just hope they release the new stable update this week.
