Ambient sounds, balance, general opinion

This patch definitely did quite a lot to help the game be updated further, but...I was expecting more in balance terms, and UI improvements. Still no "craft all" button, still no better menu/auto sorting options, flying enemies with attacks that shoot 12 barbs each doing a quarter of my health at world one...also, ambient noises are obnoxiously loud, and can't be lowered unless you lower all other sound effects too.

Press the arrow to the left to craft all.

Avoid birds until you have better armor if you can't handle them. I have no problems at all.

"Avoid birds" That's cute. And selecting an arrow to then have to click "Craft" anyway isn't what I meant. It's a fairly minor issue though.

it's literally that simple. unless you're playing on the closest zoom, you'll have several seconds from the time they appear on the screen until they start attacking. that's if they attack at all, since the majority of them are non-hostile unless attacked first as far as i've seen.

Well, no offense but the bird's are slow and you can see when they are attacking so it's very easy to avoid their projectiles. So sorry but I just don't see the problem.

The majority of them are most definitely hostile, in my experiences. And I'm not talking about the birds that melee you, I'm talking about all the projectiles, such as the barbs which shoot roughly a dozen needles at you, tracking you in rapid succession.

again, you'll have several seconds before they are able to attack you from the point at which they enter your screen. that is more than enough time to prepare yourself, be it to build a shelter, run, whatever. once you know the attack pattern of an enemy on a given planet, you're good from then on, and this can be learned in a single encounter. considering there's a limit of only a few of each enemy type on each planet, it should take no more than 3-4 encounters to figure out everything you need to know.

I've made it to sector 4 before this patch; I'm not saying I don't know how to handle this, but the fact is you shouldn't have to struggle this much on an early planet where you have no idea what to do. Imagine being a new player.

Also I noticed it still takes 3 diamond ore to make a diamond, and that crops still only grow if you're near :l

And vines still don't regrow if you leave a bit of them .(Probably intended to not regrow but it bugs me.)

I agree that the wildlife sounds need to be lower in the mix.

Oh wait, it takes FOUR diamond ore to make a diamond. Even worse :l

The diamond thing is on purpose.
If you world has a lot of ranged attacking monsters start using a shield, you can craft the first one from iron.
If you don't have double jump or a gun to hit the birds, avoid them or go to a low gravity world.

If you don't want to change worlds often because fuel, only go to planets with 2-3+ around them since switching only costs 1 fuel. Going within the same system is only about 40 fuel.

Diamonds are only used to craft the pickaxe/drill so I guess that's fair.

Again, I've made it to endgame stuff before; I'm talking about for new players. As for the diamond thing, bummer.

Its still possible to have a diamond pick before you leave your starter planet if you don't stay at the surface. I've left my starter planet with a platinum pick and 7 whole diamonds earlier this week.
