The Amalgamorphis The name "Amalgamorphis" is because an "Amalgam" is a mercury based alloy, from which the Amalgamorphis are made of, and they can Metamorphise (or what ever it is called) History A long time ago there was a race called the Magalons. The Magalonians were a sentinent spieces that lived on several planets in thier solar system. They had started researching the DNA of other species which evolved on their home planet - Magalon. They had many DNA tests going at the time of the downfall of the race. One particularly intresting sample was of a creature which spat it's DNA into another animal, taking it over, and sometimes into solid objects, where it usually died. The creatures were called Kraptus. When the Magalonian race was wiped out by a deadly disease, the Kraptus died too, along with most other animals. But the Kraptus DNA still sat there in a fluid called Skryptin. The heating went out of control in the DNA lab, and the Skryptin began to expand, shattering the glass it was in. The Kraptus DNA, since it was alive (a propety which it needed to take over other organisms) it began to move. It eventually found it's way to the part of the building where alloys were produced. Some of the DNA found it's way into an Amalgam (a mercury based alloy). Suprisingly, the Amalgam had a strange effect on the Kraptus. It allowed the Kraptus to live in the Amalgam liquid. The living metal began to expand and it split into many little puddles of living Amalgam. Other organisms, which had survived the disease, investigated the shiny moving puddles. The living Amalgam sucked itself into the organisms, and took over their bodied, just as the Kraptus had done. But instead of just taking over the body, it changed it and allowed to be made out of the Amalgam metal, which could now solidify itself. As it took on the shape of different species, it took the name Amalgamorphis. The amalgamorphic spieces evolved far faster than natural, and began to become far more advanced. Some of the Amalgamorphis even found it's way to corpses of the old Magalon, which it overtook, and began to heal itself. Now the Magalon system is full of these amalgamorphic organsims, even the plants are, and each amalgamorphic species lives in it's own group and society. Some are just regular birds which are slightly metallic, whilst others are completely differnet to what the used to be. Now here is where this race is different. There are many different groups in this race. Some are just other monsters which are metalically retextured, whilst other ones are beings in their own right. I will be going over some of the Amalgamorphic species here. Amalgamorphis These are the regular Amalgamorphis. They are little blobs of liquid which wobble about like worms. They are silvery in colour, and do not do much. There is a chance of taking damage when coming in contact with them. These count less of race than a monster. Here is a little picture (excuse my lack of skill in the ways of pixel art): And here are some stats and info: Drops/Loot: They drop Amalgamorphic DNA, which plays a big role in something I will explain later, and Amalgam which is a metal which can be solidified and used for crafting and building, as well as being able to be kept in its liquid form, which can be used as amuntions for some guns, and also some other uses. The amount of loot dropped depends on the size of the Amalgamorphis. Enviroment/Habitat: Found on almost all Magalon worlds. Often found near other Amalgamorphic species, and also near lava and metal. Spawning: Spawns anywhere near the places mentioned above, and quite frequently. Not a rare sight at all. Almost an annoyance (just like them old terraria slimes ). They will often spawn in batches of 3 or 4. Health 'n' Stuff: Not much at all, dependant on size. Nothing special here. Note: Size=Health. Movement and Behaviour: These thing jump up and down a lot and sometimes do little flip things. They wobble like jelly as well. They sometimes grow randomly, and therefore they vary in size a lot, and they can "swallow" smaller Amalgamorphis to grow in size. Larger ones often split into two or three small ones. So there . They will also sometimes split when attacked, or at least shrink in size. When you have an awesome weapon which 1-hits bigger ones, they will explode into a lot off smaller ones with between 5 and 10 health, and then most of those will die instantly. Damage: Only the occasional contact damage if you are not insulated enough. Amalgamorphic Venus Fly Trap These dudes here are intelligent, super evolved plants of the awesome kind. Yes this is some sort of bio-robotic venus fly trap! This thing can dig itself into the ground, move around and dig up somewhere else, and shoot out poison! With a metallic look, but some green and red still showing, this Amalgamorphic plant is pretty fricken aweomse-and dangerous. Once again though, it is less a race than a monster. Another amazing pixel art drawing here (sarcasm included): Note that I took an image off the web, pixelized it and added colours, so don't penalize me for accuracy to the actual thing. Also it would probably have more metal, but I can't be asked to change it. Here comes the stuff: Droppings: They drop amalgam and metallic leaf jaws which can be used to make weapons as well as weapons for mounts. Habitat: On the more green areas of the Magalon worlds. Spawning: Quite rare, in places mentioned right there^. Health: Quite strong, regenerates slowly overtime, more so when near plants (or flies? ). Movement and Behaviour: The fun part! Here we go... Although they are mostly stationary, they sometimes dig around under the ground, using their jaw thingies. Often they will dig into caves, and sometimes you will see them resurface right next to you, and you will have your face chomped off! Also, they can jump a few blocks to get within range of you. Damage and Attacks: These guys are vicous! They have two attacks. Venom spit and BITE YOUR FRICKEN FACE OFF! Venom spit: Like the name suggests they spit slivery green venom in your face, and you will most likely take poison damage, which will be more than normal because of the mercury in there. BITE YOUR FRICKEN FACE OFF!:This is pretty harmful. First, you will have no face, second a lot of damage will be done to you, and thirdly, you will still be poisoned. In this attack it extends one of its stalks with a jaw thingy on it and it BITES YOUR FRICKEN FACE OFF! Okay guys, that is it for now. The main race, which are the revived Magalons is still to come! Just wait a little, caus it will come out before starbound!
i like the part about it dropping loot. sounds so good that i reckon it should be applied to all the other enemies in the game! keep up the good work! have a cookie!.
well just write words and put ":"s around it. E.g: an alien is :alien: (I did that by going : alien : without spaces)
