AMA is over... Summary Included. [Didn't even know it started]

OHHHH MAN!!! I forgot that Reddit is their OFFICIAL FORUM... dang, my ignorance is soooo painful!!!!!

 

the forum is not what im pushing for, it is the frontpage.

not once have i said "post news on the forums". i have, however, said many a time "post all the news on the frontpage".

also, its one of the other threads where business is discussed, if it was brought up here, it was in relation to there.

i did not say "not successful" i said "go under" as in "bankrupt" "folded" "kaput" or "no longer in existence".

ive seen stronger, more established companies go under with more sales than that.

 

I guess I'm part of the minority that acknowledges the difference between on-topic and off-topic discussion. The thread title hints at something regarding what was announced during the AMA, not ad revenue, not data mining, not freaky porn, not the future of CF industries. It's a crazy thought, I know, but it seems like a whole new thread could be opened up by people who want to discuss how they'd prefer CF to operate. Who knows? Maybe Tiy will show up, notepad in hand, and start asking questions?

Major news is posted on the frontpage. Go ahead, go back and check. Oh! Lots of news! crap that's kinda hard to miss, actually. What's this? If you click through to the forums, THERE'S MORE NEWS! No way! It's as if the website is a hub of news sources! Shit there's even a twitter ticker! You don't even have to have an account to read it.

And there's people discussing the news? How can this be? THERE'S A DISCUSSION HAPPENING ABOUT HOW PEOPLE DISCUSS NEWS. MFWIHNF.

 

Who cares? That's my position. Why is this some kind of controversy? Jesus, you all have the Internet. Open a new tab.

 

Oh you mean the AMA that was NOT announced on the OFFICIAL website? Oh wait when anyone sees an issue you must not discuss it in the thread, you see the issue within you must create a new thread according to Greenman. Because you know, views. The problem is lack of INFORMATION being placed on their formal website. I apologize in advance that you do not understand this. I mean seriously?

as to tiy showing up, yes, he has. i sincerely hope he read what was said and takes it to heart.

twitterticker is blocked. again, i block every single aspect of social media websites, those little tickers and such have tracking code. as to the rest, xxswatelitexx covered the bases.

 

I'm sure I've said enough in this thread by now, but it's none of my personal business if Chucklefish goes under. I'm sure that the parties involved can survive such an ordeal somehow. As much as the law may want us to think of a corporate entity as a person with the same rights, they are not that.

I understand why you guys are concerned, I just don't see why it's such a huge deal. I mean, you did find the AMA. CF is reporting news somewhere. The fact that you are able to point to these sources easily is a testament to how easy they are to access.

If they posted erratically on 8 different sites, I'd agree that they should narrow things down a bit. But it looks like it's 2 major sources, with twitter as a minor thing that gets published pretty frequently. Just because a handful of users refuse to use Reddit doesn't mean CF should completely change the way they spread news information.

Since I did start by saying this was an off-topic discussion, and because I'm entirely not interested in arguing with the three of you at once, I'm totally bowing out. Suffice it to say that I really don't have a vested interest in convincing you guys of anything - I'm simply sharing my opinions. Peace.

 

When I paid for my copy of the game I cast my vote, that's the full extent of my involvement in their private personal affairs.

 

i found the AMA because another user posted it and a summary.... long hours before the official version was put up by tvk. before that, i only had tvk's post informing me that sometime during the day there would be an ama. no when or where. i should not have to rely on word of mouth from other users in this place, the official CF forums. at the most something like "hey everyone, new frontpage news post *link*"

i cannot speak for the others, but i am not really seriously trying to change anyone's mind. i state my own opinions, and discuss the points people bring to bear against mine own. if anything, i want those of you who seem incapable to understand why i have the opinions i do.

I didn't want to look for Starbound news on Reddit either. Hell, I don't even want to look for it on the forums. I want them to give me the information personally, three times a week, in the form of a singing telegram, but I realize there isn't much chance of that happening, and pissing and moaning about it isn't going to change that. The information is on Reddit, so I started reading Reddit. Guess what - I got the info I was looking for.

 

It's a good thing the virtual telegram (no. Their official forum and website) can have that info copy and pasted at no loss for anyone anytime.

quite hyperbolic. there is a world of difference between singing telegrams, and mirroring info on the frontpage. or, hope against hope, actually making the frontpage the primary, first, outlet for news. when people search "starbound" it's the mainpage they get at the top of the list, not reddit.

 

Oh, I know. It's utterly pointless to demand they deliver the information in the way I think they should do it. So I read Reddit, occasionally Twitter, and I get all the information I need.
How's your strategy working out for you? I'm pretty sure I get more information by reading Reddit than you do by complaining, but you keep complaining, so maybe it's getting you something.
