After downloading the 1.1 beta I immediately got multiple gold-star quality eggs, wools, and duck feathers. This continued for a few weeks, in game, and then suddenly stopped. Was that a glitch? I looked and didn't see it on the list of 1.1 changes, and I could have sworn I did. Did I miss something? I know they happened, I still have a bunch in a chest.
I don't know about animal products, but imagine my pleasant surprise upon pulling Silver star Spring Onions out of the ground on day one of a new save!
I'm guessing it was just luck and coincidence... I haven't played the 1.1 beta yet, but I know that before it, item quality wasn't locked after animals reached a certain level of affection like it is in Harvest Moon, and if it's not on the list of changes, then it probably hasn't changed.
Might have something to do with coding alterations on cheese and such, with the addition of casks? ;x Just a guess. Did you post it as a possible bug in CA's beta thread?
I hadn't yet, I wasn't sure if it was a bug or not lol. All my animals are 5 hearts, and the first week or two I got constant gold-star products from them. Then it all just stopped :O
I'm getting starred animal products too, two gold starred eggs and two silver starred eggs First time I've ever seen stars on animal products. And it can't be a bug with the botanist profession because first of all, I'm only at level 8 in the foraging skill and second of all I always go with tracker.
Its come back with a slight update to the beta, so either its a tricky issue to resolve, or maybe CA decided its not all bad? Fun fact: gold star wool sells for more than cloth does.
Okay, we might get starred animals products now but I just noticed a pretty bad animal related bug (and of course reported it). They don't gain hearts at all, even when properly cared for and petted every day and they don't produce large products ...I think I'll just put the game on hold until that has been looked at, that's a pretty nasty bug.
Oh! I hadnt even noticed that since all my animals are maxxed out on hearts, and all my chickens are Void so large products dont matter. Same for milk since Im just aging the cheese now anyhow.
If you haven't already, it won't hurt to report it in the 1.1 Beta Threadx since CA seems to be pretty accurately checking that thread.
Ah, sorry. I was looking through the thread anyway so I knew what I was getting into by going into the beta, and was looking for your post specifically since I was already doing so. But I also excel at missing the obvious, so I probably missed it. Sorry.
