In the game we will be able to own are own planet

I love this and the abilty to control the weather and how it looks.

I had a couple of extra Ideas

Teams could be part of one planet, the guild leader would have control over things like weather

Allys and enemys (should I be saying instead enaneminies)

As many people will be owning many planets on a server,It would be great if I could make allys

You can mark people as enemys, When you do you instantly mark it with a red X and it will send a message to the planets owner.

You can also mark people as allies, when you do a request is sent to the planets owner, If accepted both planets become allies. This means you can't harm each other and extra abilitys are open up.

    Allys can

    A. Can send cargo(done automaticaly) when you gain ceartin types of cargo(can be specifyed) it is split with all your allys. This is also known as a TRADE ROUTE
    B.Send Gifts
    C.Trade research and technology

Thanks for listening please post your expansions or other ideas releated to it

The trade route is a nice idea. maybe your "enemy" could even attack your cargo and steal your stuff so you have to protect it.

If possible you can hire mercenaries who will protect it.

I love this idea it would a great way to keep in contact with partners and advance each sides resource pools.

Partners might be NPC's or other players who might be online. Now keep in mind that you might not get 100% protection since the online character or NPC might just steal your loot the moment you leave.

Weird how you spelt well "allies" two times in the middle, and wrote it wrong all the other times :p
Anyway, love trade routes. It would be cool to have an automatic trade system where your extra stocks of, for example, uranium would be automatically exchanged for Einsteinium that another team possess in too big qualities but that you need for your new laser of death.

Very true it's always a possibility that some one may just want to rip you off of your hard sought resources.

This sounds much like another MMO, EVE Online.

Correction, this sounds like any other space game.
I go with maybe a friend system that shows the trust between the player and relations with other npc corps or planets. At first it might not be as high since you recently started doing business with them. Things that could increase your relationships would be doing quests for them, gifts and other good activities. I remember mention somewhere before that a mission or problem that a planet(or person) might be sick and curing that disease will leave some fun rewards.

    +1 for you sir

Apologies, let me make myself a bit clearer.

EVE Online is a game that uses a more realistic approach to MMO gaming: You can do whatever you want. There's no such thing as getting in trouble for griefing, stealing, scamming, dishonesty and any of the less savory aspects of society. The only thing that can reasonably get you into trouble is loophole exploitation.

As there is the possibility for someone, with a large enough server, to create an entire universe with many planets and lots of players, it can turn out to be a perfect example of a small MMO. Only in this case, the only GMs present will be the ones controlling the server, which means anything goes. Hence the specific comment about EVE Online.

I'm sure admin controls would determine how it would function.

like if others can steal and stuff

Ah, i did not see it that way. But i do not thing starbound will be heading towards something like that(i hope not).

Well it's not the game itself that would be the issue: It would be the players. However, I think this case is special because unlike nearly every other game, a person who hosts a large enough realm could feasibly become a player made GM. I think most of us will join areas that people are nice and reasonable in.

However, this whole thing isn't bad for the game either: Whenever you are risking yourself, the game get's much more exciting than if you know you will succeed. There could be a 'Free For All' server that you are in conflict with other players all the time, making for combat much more interesting. Make deals with others, form a truce with someone to protect both of your planets, and make a very interesting atmosphere, in my opinion.

This is such a good idea. Personally I would want this more for raiding my enemy's caravans rather than trading goods lol.
