Whats the one thing most likely to get me to restart a day multiple times due to something as silly as a misclick? Shop owners are the most dangerous entity in the game for this. Why is there no way to refund an item at *FULL* cost if you misclick an item? Purchasing an item should happen when it goes into my inventory, NOT when I misclick an item and it drains all my money. Restarted the same level about 6 times yesterday and got caught by misclicks every time stealing my money and forcing me to restart the day like its damn groundhog day until I gave up on that day. Its hard to enjoy the game when I hate the NPC's so damn much because of this, Can we please get NPC's that don't do this and instead wait until we actually take the item and put it in our inventory before $ changes hands, Because this really just ruins what could be an enjoyable game.
Going along with that, would be nice if we accidentally sell something we bought, we can buy it back for the amount we sold it. I've had so many issues where I accidentally sell because I'm trying to move an item and forget I'm in the shop window.
Uh, I don't know. The game is enjoyable for me without this addition. Yes, I may have to restart the day once or twice when I'm a little absent minded and make a blunder or two, which can be a little annoying - but starting a day six times on account of the same mistake being made over and over again cant really be named as the games fault. Thing is, when you go into a shop and buy something, and once you have taken the item from the shopkeeper, the payment has been made. Which is why people usually shop with care as not to waste money. After all, it isn't like the ingame clock is ticking while your in the shopping window, so there is no real reason to rush the occasion. I think its a challenge of the games mechanics to keep this in, to remove it would take away some of the challenge, which is also why Pierre will only buy your items back at a reduced price. I mean, if everything ingame was redeemable on account of inaccurate clicking or human error, then it wouldn't be much of a game imo. I don't think I can support this idea.
Its not really rushing more or less it is that the time DOES stop time at the NPC and the cursor disappears if you do not have the game as the active window the mouse does not show where you are GOING to click then you click back into the game, The game will certainly register your click and ruin that day as it steals your items and there is *NOTHING* you can do about it. An invisible mouse cursor stealing your stuff because you wanted a small break from the game is not cool nor is it fun. Its a casual game and this one thing... ruins that I'm playing a casual game and makes the NPCs more hardcore than a lot of roguelike games. Being a casual game having something that is supposed to be a casual exchange be a hardcore exchange is silly.
I don't really know if i understand what your saying. I play the game A LOT. all I can think is that your talking about the glitch when the cursor doesn't show up in the shop window from time to time. So... if the cursor doesn't show up in the shop window, exit the window and reopen it. It only takes a second. And all games have a glitch or two.
I mean, I apologize if I'm misunderstanding or if this reply comes off as rude, but isn't the solution to this to just... not click away from the game while in the shop window? I can understand wanting to take a small break, but you can take a break from the game at any other point just fine. Finish your shopping and then click away, or take a break and then come back and do the shopping. The only thing hardcore about the exchange is the challenge you're setting up for yourself. That being said, I do approve of this idea as a sort of quality of life touch up- I know sometimes I get click happy when bulk buying objects and I end up with more than I need, so it would be nice to not have to take the loss until I actually exit the shop window with the item in my inventory.
agreed. I accidentally bought a 20,000 item. Granted it was one I wanted and eventually would've bought, but I was saving my money...and there it all went...just like that.
There is also the issue (not sure if it is a common one, but it happens regularly with me) where even if the game is not the active window, it will still register clicks and keystrokes. I've literally started the game up with my sound system off and then came back to having progressed a few days and lost some gold as well as changing screens because I get an important email or message and went to respond and realized later that the game had captured all my keystrokes, often destroying a huge part of my farm or other issues. That said, even without glitches and such, it would be nice to have a "confirm" window like some games have where you have a confirm button at the bottom (often able to click it with a key/button) and a list of how much you are buying/selling and how much your cost will be (some even show you how much you'll have left).
Oh, okay, that does sound like a huge issue that should be fixed, then. I didn't know that was an issue at all, suddenly that makes a lot more sense.
Wow, that sounds like something I haven't heard about before, at least with this game. sounds like a serious issue and not something that is common. I mean, I have emails (just saying), but I also have Skype and chat with people on Steam all the time while playing, and I do play the game one hell of a lot, but what you are talking about has never happened to me. Then again, I play the game with an Xbox controller, so maybe that makes the difference.
Yeah, as I said, I'm not sure if it is a common issue or a rare issue that my setup happens to cause to happen.
A double press of E has been my solution but sometimes I still find myself about to alt tab from a shop because a shopkeeper has something and I wonder what that item does. While there is a work around, Should there have to be on something so simple? People are not perfect and they do forget sometimes. They should not really be penalized for being human. There is an option in the settings for if the game pauses or not while inactive. Perhaps this is the cause of your issue. Nope, I have 3 monitors. Moving my cursor off the game window while in a shop or inventory screen and clicking another window causes the game window to no longer show the cursor until I click somewhere in the game. The same will happen if I alt-tab the game window. This is able to be resolved via turning on the hardware cursor but that really does not fit well within the game and has its own issues. I also run Linux.
ODDLY, it doesn't run while I'm inactive if I don't touch anything. But if I hover my mouse over where the window is and click...
Why are people so quick to dismiss a bug? Obviously it's not a game breaking bug, but its still not operating as intended. Its a quality of life thing, and it does get annoying. Personally, I don't know why the client can't stay active with the controller if Im clicking out of the game anyway. I don't use my mouse for SDV at all.
